Whiterok designed and provided project administration for our house build. Martin not only has a great eye for design but his building knowledge is invaluable. He works closely with the builder and knows what is and isn’t technically possible which ensures the build runs smoothly. During the build he researched and proposed different ideas which really enhanced the house. We would highly recommend his services and have thoroughly enjoyed working with him.

Martin and team did a full drawings service for my loft conversion and single storey rear extension on a fairly challenging building with a lot of local authority obstacles thrown in and I couldn't have asked for more. Their service was flawless and responsive and very reasonable and the drawings show impeccable understanding of the sort of practical details that are so often lacking in architectural specs. I can't recommend Whiterok highly enough and won't be using anybody else now I've found them.

As a small family building firm, we have worked with Martin on a number of projects, most recently our own home. Martin has a strong awareness of the need for practicality in terms of both the build process and the final use of a space, without compromising on design and aesthetics. Martin designer an extension and reconfiguration of several aspects of our 1930s house. He has great ideas, listens and is practical. His drawings are of excellent quality and the planning process was very straight forward with Martin leading this. A great service from Martin. He asks the right questions and his designs are on point with well thought out design. Getting the design right in the first instance is the most important part of any build process. We will start building our extension in a couple of months and can't wait to see the plans in reality. Martin did a high-level design for a 3-house development which was instrumental in getting outline planning permission and which formed the basis of the actual development after the land was sold. I found Martin listened well and knew a lot about the wider subject of property development. I felt more confidence in submitting the application thanks to his professionalism and would use his services again if the situation arose.

Martin designed a kitchen extension for us in 2016 which is now complete, even though we were clear what we wanted as a general layout Martin added some extra features which have made the overall result much more interesting. The drawings were accurate which made for an easy passage through building regs and construction.

Martin has designed a contemporary single story extension for us. He immediately understood what we were after and was able to input some excellent ideas and suggest some features we had not thought of. His communication is excellent, answering emails within a day or so and arranging and attending meetings on site with the minimum of fuss. . A very friendly and open approach gave us a lot of confidence in his work and we are delighted with the finished design. Highly recommended.

We had plans drawn up for a 2 storey extension and a garage conversion. Martin was fantastic and suggested a totally different design to what we originally anticipated, it was exactly what we wanted, we just didn't realise! Having now shown the drawings to builders to get quotes for work, they have very impressed by the exceptional attention to details of the plans. Would highly recommend.

Whiterock prepared the necessary drawings for our building refers, organised the civil engineer's calculations, and dealt with the Planners. They responded promptly to all requests and were generally responsive. I think they could have given more guidance regarding dealing with the Building Inspector, which I found I had been left to do while I thought they had done it. And I don't think their service is cheap. But overall, Whiterok did a good job.

Martin designed our 2 storey extension which has now been built. His service was second to none and our builder commented several times on how good his plans were. There were lots of steels required but they all fitted perfectly. We would have no hesitation in using Martin again and highly recommend him.

Whiterok (Martin Runcie) took ownership of the entire process from visiting us to discuss ideas through to the successful building regulations application. Martin visited us on a number of occasions to understand what we wanted, advised us as to what was and wasn't possible taking into consideration the practicalities of our requested layout and building regulations, and successfully guided us through the planning process. He demonstrated a comprehensive understanding of building techniques and constraints, regulatory constraints, and produced a high quality set of drawings with which we were able to obtain quotes from builders. Martin always responded quickly to our queries. We have now taken on a builder and are waiting for building to start. We have no hesitation in recommending Martin.

I had no idea whatsoever with the planning process and Martin listened to what I wanted to achieve and advised what he felt we would be allowed to complete. His advice was extremely helpful and his communication throughout the whole process was fantastic. I would highly recommend Martin.

Martin explained the planning permission system, drew up the plans for our extension, changed them when we changed our mind and then organised the planning process, including getting permission from English Heritage on our behalf. Costs were exactly as stated in his estimate. We would happily use him again and strongly recommend Whiteroc.
