We had a taxi booked to pick us up from Gatwick this week and it failed to turn up. Upon phoning Western cars we were told a car would arrive in 15 minutes. It arrived 45 minutes later. The driver informed me the the fare would be £35. I showed him a copy of my booking showing £25. At this point the driver became abusive removed our luggage from the car and drove off. I am 82 years old and disabled but that did not matter when it came to this driver. I rang the phone who sided with the driver. I have now complained to the local licensing authority as in my view this company should not be operating.Moreexpand_more
Used to be OK at best. Now absolutely terrible. The drivers are mostly lovely - however the people that run the phones are not. I’ve just waited 50 mins for a booked taxi (the app showed 16 mins when I booked). I called twice the first time (after 25 mins)I was assured it was 2 mins away. I called 25 mins later to say I was unhappy with the service and that the app consistent showed it being 7 mins away when it was clearly not. The guy on the phone pretends the line was breaking up! Really. It’s wasn’t. The photo shows the taxi allegedly 8 mins away 10 mins or so after I booked it. Thus it remained for the next 40 mins, sometimes changing to 9 mins away and at one point disappearing. This is the second time this has happened in a month - waiting over 50 mins for a taxi that was show as 15 mins on the app. I’ve been using them for years and years as I don’t drive but recently the app is worse than useless as is minute on the app is about 10 mins in real life. They have put their prices up and the service has gone way, way done. They lie on the phone and are rude and pretend they can’t hear you if you complain. Dreadful. Western cars never disappoint me and drivers like Shams Iftikhar are amazing and best at their job when it comes to customer services. I am a regular customer and always ask for Shams if he's available as gives me the best service and always help me with my luggage and driving is excellent, very professional, thanks western cars.
We have been using ivern and his team for months they are a very well organised company we do not use any other taxi company and they do their very best to make the journey comfortable so all in all I would recommend a and b taxis and they are always on time and very professional even in short notice they are their.
I have been living in East Grinstead for about 3 years and I must say that Western Cars is by far the best taxi company. Whether its taxi fare, on time service, school runs they have never disappointed us. During the Covid period we had a few redhill hospital visits and pick ups late at night but service is always on point. Reliable and trustworthy people. Five stars *****.
Having used this company for sometime. I have had two occasions (Oct and Nov)recently, where quoted fees were not honoured. One being increased by a significant amount claiming they had made a mistake when quoting. I now feel they are totally untrustworthy and will not use them again. BEWARE.
This is the worst taxi company I have ever used! I rang a month in advance to take 31 people to Lingfield Races from 3 pick up points. We were told that we would get mini buses…only one 6 seater arrived and the rest were cars. They were nearly half an hour late picking us up…and didn't send enough cars so some people were left behind and had to wait another 20 minutes for another car to arrive making them nearly an hour late! The driving was pretty horrendous on the way there. They were completely unorganised! I rang them during the evening to double check that they were picking us up from the correct meeting point which they confirmed that they were but they didn't turn up leaving us all stranded at Lingfield! When we were trying to ring them to find out where our taxis were they either didn't pick up the phone but when they did they just hung up on us. We had to find our own way home which was a complete nightmare! There were also lots of other people that had booked cars with them that were also stranded. I rang the office when I finally managed to get home and they basically took no responsibility trying to blame Lingfield Park which is rediculous as it was nothing to do with them. How this company is still running is beyond me! Completely unorganised, very unprofessional and unreliable. I will never use this company again!Moreexpand_more
