A family business founded in 2004, West Riding was one of the first UK financial adviser firms - perhaps THE first - to completely eschew commissions in favour of a transparent fee-only model for investment and pension advice. Likewise, West Riding was one of the first IFA firms to have only employed advisers instead of self-employed consultants working on a commission only model. It's no surprise, then, that along the way West Riding has built a great reputation as an employer to work with, especially for women, who have always been in the majority at the firm. West Riding also has a great reputation for training new colleagues up from scratch, spotting talent outside the profession and helping new people build great careers in financial services.

West Riding specialises in investments and pensions, its owner-manager Neil F. Liversidge having worked in investment advice since 1980. Neil was previously the 'adviser to the advisers' at the DBS network, analysing products and funds and providing specialist advice to around 2000 small adviser firms employing circa 4000 advisers throughout the UK. Operating from its modern office in the centre of Castleford, as of May 2025 West Riding manages approximately £135m for its clients throughout the UK.

West Riding offers advice on Stocks-and-Shares ISAs including Junior ISAs, General Investment Accounts, regular savings, Personal Pensions, (including SIPPs) and Small Self-Administered Schemes (SSASs). Neil’s vision when founding West Riding in 2004 was to build an American-style firm in the UK, one that would slaughter the competition on value-for-money and give clients the kind of service they can’t get anyplace else. Nobody out-competes West Riding on fees, but highly competitive low charges are only one half of the equation. Anybody can be cheap by cutting corners on service or being mean to their staff, but West Riding does not short change anybody. Value-for-money great service is what matters, delivered by a well-paid, well-treated, and therefore highly motivated workers, in a mutually supportive team.

Google West Riding, or Neil Liversidge by name, and you'll find that the company has an endless amount of good press, including reports of how Neil warned the FCA that London Capital and Finance - LCF - was a swindle FOUR YEARS before the regulator and everyone else woke up to it. That episode and Neil's attempt to alert the FCA is even mentioned in Hansard, the daily record of proceedings in the House of Commons.
