I work with individual authors and businesses to improve the readability and flow of their documents. Whether it's a business document or a full manuscript, I will polish and edit your text in line with your brief and ensure your message or story is clear.

Most of my editing is done in Word with Track Changes, but I have also worked with PDFs and Google Docs in both British and US English.

I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading and have completed their accredited training. I am also an English tutor, so my grammar and spelling are at a professional standard.

I offer copyediting, proofreading and critique services. The basic elements of each are as follows:
Business documents and fiction:
~ Copyediting: checking each sentence for clarity, flow, verbosity and word choice. Also, grammar, punctuation, tense issues and continuity.
~Proofreading: The final polish and clean-up of your document to catch any last errors.

Fiction:
~ Critique: I will read your manuscript and provide you with a report on your story arc, character arc, structure, theme, tone, pace, point of view and showing versus telling.
~10,000-word copyedit and teaching session: for those authors on a budget, I will edit 10,000 words of your manuscript and book an online meeting to teach you how to edit the rest of your work before sending it for full copyediting or proofreading. This can greatly reduce your total editing costs.
~Forensic500: A nit picky, line by line analysis of your first 500 words. This service is for new writers to improve their writing skills and for seasoned writers to work out an 'tics' they may have developed and stretch their literary brain.

My work ethic is to exceed expectations, and it has served me well so far with every client being happy with my work.

I ensure that once your project is underway, I will keep you informed at every step. My times and turnaround are flexible so if you 'feel the need for speed', I can usually accommodate you.
