I had a Video8 tape which had snapped and the casing was damaged on the tape itself. Colin repaired the tape and transferred the contents of the tape to a very high quality video file with a very quick turnaround. I would highly recommend Video99 to anyone who requires their home video tapes to be digitized.

Excellent service from start to finish. Colin was friendly, professional, helpful and kept us fully informed of progress and options. He transferred on old VCC 360 Video Compact Cassette onto DVD's and USB, a wedding from 1985, and the quality was superb. Fast service, great price. Highly recommended.

Video99 provide great service, and a niche service you're unlikely to find elsewhere readily. Communication is frequent and informative. Colin is professional yet grounded, and a pleasure to do business with.

Had a Philips N1700 tape of a TV programme my wife and I had been on in 1980 which we had not been able to view since it was first broadcast. Having found Colin's video of himself using his N1700 machine I got in contact and he very quickly and professionally transferred it to digital format, wonderful!

Colin really went the extra mile to help me digitize my 6 ancient VHS tapes including finding alternative ways to upload the files given that my work laptop has had its USB sockets disabled for security purposes. Great service and many thanks.

I am so grateful to CM for my recently digitized videos and minidvs. The service is competitively priced and very good value. There were clear concise instructions to follow when sending your media to him. I received my content rapidly and its been an absolute joy seeing this footage again after 24 years (and even older) Thank you.

I don’t normally bother to post reviews but service I received from Colin for the quick turnaround of my 34 Hi8 and MiniDV tapes was exemplary. He kept me informed throughout the transfer process and the quality of the delivered files exceeded my expectations. I am more than happy to recommend Video99 and will be using them again in the future.

I've used Colin/Video99 several times, always being happy with the results. He has always produced excellent results at a fair price. He even re-transferred, for free, one tape when I mentioned that the audio was very muffled. The second transfer sounded far better but had screwy video. In the end, he was able to merge the two into an acceptable transfer. I didn't mind the trouble. He's working with machines that are up to 50 years old. The fact that some of these machines still work at all is a small miracle! In addition, even when he said he was busy, Colin has always had fast turnaround times whenever I've used him. These weren't rush jobs, just tapes I wanted him to transfer at his leisure. Maybe I've just been lucky but it has never taken more than 2-3 days. The one exception was when the machine was malfunctioning and he had to work on it. After it was fixed, all was well. Further, once his Internet setup was upgraded at the end of 2023, it became far easier to receive his files over the Internet, saving a lot of time and money. I have only two very minor caveats. First, if he does ask you to confirm receipt of files or packages, please do so. One time, I downloaded my files but forgot to tell him. He didn't send my tape back until I wrote to ask about it. He was waiting for me to confirm that the transfer was acceptable. Second, this is extremely nit-picky but SECAM and unusual PAL tapes will be transferred to regular PAL for capture purposes. The results are still quite good. All I mean to say is that if you insist on "pure" transfers of SECAM/MESCAM/PAL-M/PAL-N tapes, they'll all be converted due to his capture setup. (Keep in mind that it's very difficult to capture these tapes without such conversion. ).Once again, that's all extremely nit-picky. If you have tapes you need to archive, Colin's a fantastic choice for that work. Have no worry, he'll do everything he can to give you the best possible transfer of your tapes, and be honest with you if your tapes can't be salvaged.Moreexpand_more

We had a Sony U-Matic tape of a fashion show we did in 1979 which had gone missing after a move in 1990. After discovering it we were concerned as to how the tape would perform as its storage was not as it should have been. Having found Colin after some research and reading his glowing reviews we sent the tape to him. He was extremely helpful and produced a wonderful digital copy for us which we are delighted with. .

Colin did a fantastic job of transferring our 30 year old, VHS, wedding video to digital. I was blown away by the speed of the service, with the first file available for me to download 24 hours after I posted it to Video99. I would highly recommend Video99. Great service.
