Urban Edge Theatre School provides children the opportunity to learn Street Dance, Singing and Acting with the best the region has to offer. All tutors at Urban Edge are working professionals, meaning the children are kept up to date with all the current trends and skills to put them on the right path in life. Whether it is because they want to see their name in lights, or whether it is just a way of them to socialise and build their own confidence - Urban Edge is there for them.

The three basic schools operate out of Billericay (Tuesday), Hockley (Wednesday) and South Benfleet (Thursday) and cover the three main disciplines Dancing, Singing and Acting. The classes are split into three groups, based on age and ability, and rotate between each skill so that everyone does a bit of everything. We aim to put on one BIG show a year, showcasing to parents and agency talent scouts everything that the children have learnt. This also gives the children the experience of performing in professional theatres.

Urban Edge also operates a BTEC College Course, funded by the Government, at The Canvey Skills Campus in Canvey Island (formerly the Castle View School). This is a state of the art vocational complex offering students from the ages of 16 years plus the chance to really hone the skills already established by their time in the three 'feeder' schools. Students get the chance to perform in the showcase too, reminding them that they are still part of the Urban Edge family.

Urban Edge also has 'Elite' Teams in Dance and Singing, who compete around the UK in competitions. These are students who excel at their specific performance skill and give them time to develop outside of the normal lesson times. You must be part of the main school to be part of an 'Elite' Team, as they give their piers something to aim and aspire to, raising everyone's game and enjoyment.

Urban Edge Theatre School is proud to be associated with BizzyKids Agency. This gives the children the chance to earn money on professional jobs. So effectively, the training could pay for itself, if things worked out well!
