With 25 years of experience in optical design UK Optical Plastics Limited provides optical and illumination design services to customers throughout the local area and worldwide. Set up in 1999, the business is located in Leicester Forest East (Leicester). Another speciality is the design and manufacture of plastic optics for LED lighting and display and PIR (passive infrared) movement sensing optics. Major clients include Philips, Honeywell, Fuji-dupont, Renault Formula 1 and several leading universities.

The firm delivers a variety of optical design services to businesses, which is intended to cost effective for OEM or display manufacturers. With rapid prototype facialities, the business also has friendly staff helping clients to a cost effective service.

The business offer high level optical design services and manufacture of custom plastic optics to clients. Advance optical raytracing is done on Zemax optical design software. Manufacture of optical prototypes in plastic is also offered to clients as well as test and assembly capability.

With just one hard working designer, UK Optical Plastics Ltd has a highly capable engineer, formally qualified to masters level (in applied optics).

UK Optical Plastics Ltd has a small base of customers, based around Leicester and worldwide. These include Philips, Honeywell, Fuji-Dupont, Renault formula 1 and some leading London based universities.

The company is managed by Tony Messiou MSc, who has been involved in the optical design and development market for many years. Tony Messiou is more than able to rapidly satisfy his clients' requirements to the most demanding specification, having previously worked for Philips and Crosfield Electronics.
