Apple and authorised resellers have to follow Apple’s rules and they are priced to encourage you to buy a new Mac rather than repair your existing one. That is why Apple gives such expensive quotes to repair your Macbook.
I can offer you much more cost effective ways to get your Mac working again because I am not controlled by Apple.

Is your iMac or Mac mini running really slow? You probably have a hardware issue causing it to run at quarter speed. I can fix and get it back to running at top speed or even faster! No need to buy a new iMac - in fact dont - the new ones can't be upgraded.
