Tyas Cottage

I booked Tyas Cottage at the last moment as a long weekend getaway for my husband's 40th birthday. On arriving we were impressed by the stunning location, the excellent accommodation and the attention to detail that the owners had gone to. The owners were most welcoming, the children enjoyed playing in the fantastic gardens and especially the pods (chairs) that overhung the ponds. My son really enjoyed the egg (straight from the one of the hens walking around the grounds) for his breakfast! The bedrooms were really well thought out and the kitchen well equipped. The furniture throughout the house was quite unique and very interesting. As we went through our stay we were really impressed with the green ethos the owners had adopted, woodburing stove, solar panel, water turbine etc. It showed great effort had been made to make this a truly wonderful experience. The peace and quiet in the area made it a great place to unwind and relax. We also took the opportunity to walk in the area which had great views and excellent pubs like the Rose & Crown in easy walking distance from the cottage (10 - 15 mins)We would happily recommend this to all and look forward very much to a return visit in the near future.Moreexpand_more

The spacious and well equipped Tyas cottage is of exceptional quality, beautifully furnished with antiques. The garden is designed by the owner being a landscape architect. The house is situated in a small green valley that is most attractive. The owners share their beautiful garden with the guests and provide great hospitality. The cottage is well suited for children. We (family with three children aged 9,11 and 13) had a great week in the Tyas cottage. It provides a perfect starting point for hiking and visiting Leeds and Manchester.
