About Tracy’s Tutoring

Tracy’s Tutoring offers exceptional one-to-one, small group and online tutoring to children aged 4-13. As an experienced and creative teacher I’ve worked through a range of primary classes, and therefore am aware of the challenges and expectations that arise for children. I hold a BA (Hons) in Education Studies with Psychology and a PGCE in Primary Education, I’ve also got a MOCN in Mentoring and a Level 3 in Counselling among other training courses qualifications.

Tracy’s Tutoring covers a wide spectrum of Primary Year Booster sessions, Homeschooling, Phonics, SAT’s, Eleven and Twelve Plus, Entrance Examinations and teaching lower Key Stage 3. I am able to adapt to my teaching to cater to different learning styles. I try to make lessons fun wherever I can and encourage children to talk openly about their learning. As I originally trained as an early years teacher (3-8) my first instinct is to provide children with learning opportunities that will keep their interest. I have all the resources necessary for our session so there is no need to bring anything and I also provide work, if needed, to continue at home during the week. I thoroughly believe Children excel when they enjoy their learning so I try to incorporate games and puzzles into sessions wherever possible. Both Literacy and Maths lend themselves to lots of practical activities that can take place in the kitchen or outside which helps the children grasp concepts much easier while demonstrating how certain topics and calculations are used everyday in a variety of settings. Using creative techniques for learning has seen ‘special’ lessons including calculation cupcakes, the grammar games and hoopla homograph and homophones to name a few.

While the Entrance Exams and 11+ &12+ Are more formalised we look and focus on strategy and incorporate lots of vocabulary games to support recognition of words.

I always provide parents with open and honest feedback and always happy to talk through any concerns they may have.
