About Toughen Up


Based in Enfield, Toughen Up delivers a complete Personal Fitness Training service to clients throughout the North London area.
The company has many years experience in Martial Arts training, group fitness classes and the Personal Fitness tuition sector.

During your consultation with Toughen Up your abilities will be assessed and a training programme will be tailored to suit your needs.

Toughen Up offer a variety of fitness classes:
- Monday and Thursday: Boxercise Circuit - St. Michael's C. Of E. School, Brigadier Hill, Enfield EN2 0NB.
- Saturday: Outdoors Fitness 1 and 2 - Hilly Field's, Cooks Hole Road, Enfield EN2 0UD.

Toughen Up instructors hold:
Advanced Boxercise, Boxercise Kick, MMA (mixed martial arts) Fitness, personal fitness training, obstacle race trainer and various CPD certificates.
So every participant can be sure of a challenging varied workout guaranteed to increase fitness levels and skills.

Toughen Up also provide Body Composition Analysis using the Bodystat 1500. This bio-impedence analyser provides much more information than just a BMI and gives an accurate measurement of body fat weight, muscle weight and water weight with the recommended ranges.

Toughen Up has an experienced, friendly and qualified staff. Qualified as personal trainers, martial arts instructors, Physical Interventions trainer, Conflict Management Trainer, Muhammad Ali Pro (speed pads) fitness trainer, Advanced Boxercise certificate, Boxercise trainers, Boxercise kick trainer, Boxercise PT, First Aid at Work and a host of other relevant CPD certificates.

Toughen Up has an expanding customer base, located throughout the London area, including corporate clientelle, office/ school staff, small groups of friends/ colleagues and individuals with varying degrees of fitness and abilities.

The company is managed by Brian Reid who has been working within the Martials Arts tuition, Fitness classes and Personal training market for many years. Having previously worked for established Martial Arts clubs in Tottenham, Manor house, Camden and in the City, Brian Reid is more than qualified to look after the company.

I asked for Brian's help after seeing a photo of myself and realised I needed to shift more than a few pounds. He delivered a series of personal training sessions to kick-start me into getting back in shape. The workouts comprised of a combination of cardio and weights. Brian is very professional in his approach and knows exactly what he is doing. Each session was challenging yet varied and I felt that I was pushed to the limit. More importantly, he gave me the confidence to put into practice what I had learned from his training sessions. I will be attending the Toughen Up classes as I can also see the value of a group workout. However, I would not hesitate to recommend Brian as a personal trainer. He is exceptional and a real gem!

Brian's toughen up sessions started with a total body MOT. Based on that MOT every session he has prepared for me has been of the utmost quality. So impressed. Brian has a sense of humour that makes you do that extra press up. I cancelled my GYM membership because of TOUGHEN UP. Brian in one session made me achieve far more than my GYM session. Toughen Up is a excellent way of getting fit for a great price. Starting off with a warm up session then moving on to pad work, which the instructor shows you how to use with the right technique. A circuit is also used to get us to work hard for a a period of time this is followed by a cool down. I think Toughen Up is the best service i have used to keep fit, not only its a hard work out, its a fun work out for everyone.

I have been attending the Toughen Up classes for a number of weeks now. The format is great - moves and techniques are broken down and explained clearly by the expert tutor. There's a challenging circuit which is for strength and conditioning followed by a "warm down" to prevent injury at the end of the session. If you really want to learn MMA & get fit then this is for you!

A great head to foot workout that's brilliant for toning up and loosing those unwanted 'bat wings' and 'love handles' with a shrinking waistline in only 2 weeks of starting! It's not a walk in the park but it's attainable, good for building endurance,stamina,flexibility and strength. You certainly know your alive when all those muscle start aching! Bring a towel and water because you'll need it! An excellent way of getting that 'feel good factor'.
