Richard has turned several items, from clock case ornaments, plinths for Marine chronometers, as well as a solid ebony pendulum rod. He's also turned a beautiful set of nut bowls for me, which have been much admired. If you need a bespoke piece of wood turning, I would highly recommend Richard at the Turner's Workshop.
I asked for three spindles to match the original ones in my staircase (circa 1921). Richard requested I send one of the broken ones to him so he could reproduce a perfect match. That is exactly what he did- I now have the most beautifully matching staircase. The price was fantastic, but the service and quality product is second to none. Well packaged and being kept informed means that I cannot recommend this business highly enough. Thanks again Richard.
Simply fantastic! I contacted several companies in the hope of getting a bespoke music desk made for my grand piano. I knew it was a very unusual job and wasn't surprised I couldn't find anyone but then, thank God, I happened to find Richard who was more than happy to help me. I have to say that am so impressed with the quality of his workmanship. Nothing was too much trouble and the cost was also very reasonable. He's a very friendly guy too. Thanks again for an really great job Richard!
I ordered an oak trophy base from Richard which will be used to build quite a complex piece in wood, bone and leather. The design was very precise and the specifications exact. The base was made very quickly and I received it far sooner than I anticipated. When it arrived I was mightily impressed; it is exactly what I wanted! The price was also excellent. Richard is a superb craftsman and I would have no hesitation in recommending his skills to anyone. Andy Bates (Andy Bates Leatherwork.
I ordered 4 new softwood turned stair spindles to match those in my house after finding it impossible to locate replacements of two broken spindles. The quality of the spindles produced superb and matched perfectly, infact better than the originals I think. Communication with the workshop was excellent and delivery was within 2 weeks of the order. The items were packaged really well and the delivery charge was very acceptable. The overall cost was worth it considering they were manufactured to order and to my specification. I would have no doubt in using this workshop again.
Richard Findley made up some rather ornate chair stretchers for me and every aspect of the job was highly satisfactory. The price quoted was keen and adhered to. The timescale quoted for the job was improved on. I was kept informed of the jobs progress and RF also made helpful suggestions. I would have no hesitation in offering him further work.
I had broken an obsolete stair spindle and luckily I found Richard from The Turners Workshop. He produced a duplicate from my broken one and primed it for me and so quickly I couldn't believe it. His service was exceptional and very reasonably priced. Thank you very much for the help! Glenn Brown.
I had specified the precise requirements for my wooden replacement lawnmower front rollers and Richard produced a bespoke product that precisely met my specifications. The quality of the fiished product was exceedingly high. Care was taken on the packaging of the product for transportation. Richard contacted me prior to dispatch to inform me of the anticipated delivery date. He produced the item for me in fewer days then he initially quoted - which pleased me. I would definately recommend The Turners Workshop.
The Turner's Workshop made some replacement threaded wooden mahogany knobs for a chest of drawers, and I must say how pleased I was with the results, the colour match was perfect and they fitted very well. I wholeheartedly recommend their work and customer service.
I wanted a bowl turned for a wedding present for my niece. I discussed the size, shape and wood with Richard and he made a really beautiful bowl. Richard went out of his way to make sure I was happy at every step of the process. The bowl arrived very well packed and perfect. I would definitely recommend Richard to anyone looking for excellent craftsmanship and service at a very fair price.
I needed a pair of Victorian style sofa legs turned to restore a Howard and Sons sofa dating from about 1860. From just a photograph of a typical H&S sofa leg and an outline drawing I provided, Richard Findley produced a fantastic pair of legs. The interest and thought put into the project before work started was considerable, with lots of email contact proposing ideas and offering polished wood samples which allowed me to choose the best type of wood, in this case some old mahogany. When the order was delivered the sofa legs were even better than anticipated, beautifully shaped and a good colour which will further develop with age. All round an excellent service from a professional who really cares about his craft. Thank you.
