My garden was worse than a jungle following many many years of neglect from previous owner. The team understand my requirements offered good professional advice and first class ideas. The team worked so hard and efficiently and transformed a derelict waste into a useful and attractive space. Very efficient, cost effective professional set up worth every penny thankyou.
I chose Tidy Gardens 4U from 3 quotes I got for a garden clearance. They worked hard and quickly transformed my garden. I liked their attention to detail and ideas they came up with, including building a wood burning Pizza oven which I am considering later in the summer…. I now have a great space to enjoy. I have no hesitation in recommending them if you are looking for a quality job at a fair price and with a friendly service! ….
I am new to using Tidy gardens 4 u, I have been using a different company for a number of years now to maintain my garden. The work from my previous company just wasn't up to standard. Gave Ian a call the quote was done fast he started the job straight away, my garden looks amazing now I wouldn't use anyone else now! A very happy customer indeed! :) thankyou Ian :).
Our first time with Tidy Gardens 4U today. Very impressed with the work carried out, which consisted of weeding and cleaning up a large overgrown area of our garden plus sheering of our large hedgerow. I did not expect them to get so much done in such a short amount of time. On top of the speed and quality of Ian's work, his work ethic was wonderful and he was a genuinely nice guy!
I have been using Ian for years now. He is a nice guy, reliable and always finishes a job well. He's done fencing for us, including garden maintenance. He works fast and leaves your garden very tidy. Highly recommended.
They got the job done, but beware. I am a blind single mum and garden maintenance is something that I find extremely difficult so after my former gardener stopped trading, I looked around for another. I came across this company and placed a call with them on June 10th and didn't hear anything from them until either June 17 or 18. However, when they did call they were prompt and came to see me within 10 minutes to gather some information and give me a quote for what needed to be done. I didn't think it was anything special, just a real good tidy up and removal of all weeds from my front and back garden. Ian came and told me that it was £15 an hour and they would have two of them working on it and it would take half a day so the price would be £120 at £15 per person per hour. I thought this was a little expensive but when he justified it like that I just took his word for it. Who was I to argue? He also mentioned that it would be himself and a colleague but that he would not be present for about an hour as he had something he needed to do but we agreed that they would come around the next day to get the job done. They arrived around 9:15 the next day and Ian left saying he would be back in about an hour to help out. At 12:00 or so, Ian still wasn't back but around 1:30 or so Ian knocked at the door and told me they were finished. When I asked him how long he had been back, he told me that he had been back about an hour or so. At that point, I argued the toss with him about the cost as 1 person doing 4 hours work and another doing 1 did not warrant £120 so he told me to pay him £80. This I felt was reasonable. However, 10 or so minutes after he left the house, I received a call from him saying that £80 was not reasonable and that he was running at a loss charging me that. He claims that his colleague worked 5 hours so there was £75 right there and that he had been there an hour (another £15) and that that wasn't taking into account running around and costs of running his blower and his strimmer etc). Anyway, to cut a long story short, I paid him the £120 but I do feel I was ripped off. If you are going to quote someone a price you should quote for what you do, not charge extra on to. I know the price was originally £120 but I didn't have two people working here all the time which was what I assumed I was paying for. I didn't expect to be charged extra for the use of his blower and strimmer. If I had known I was going to be charged I would have hired them myself. My friend came round today and when I told her the story of what had happened she looked at my garden and while I thought it was very well done, she said there is still moss and not all the weeds were taken away. My garden is tidy but I advise anyone who is going to use this company to get the quote in writing first and make sure you won't get charged any hidden extras.Ian has since reviewed and I appreciate his response but they did leave my house before 2PM and I have the calls and texts to prove it. As for whether he came back to check on his colleague's progress I have no clue. I know when I asked his colleague at around 11:45 aobut whether Ian had not come back I was told that he is quite often left upon his own. I don't think for one second that this was a complaint, simply his colleague making a conversation. I was also on a bus by 14:20 heading towards my Fiance's house in Manchester and on a train in Blackpool North by 15:04 so it is very unlikely that they were here until then at all.Moreexpand_more
We recently moved into our house and the gardens were like a jungle. Ian and his colleague came and after a day we could see path and the front of our new home. They worked none stop and knew what they were doing. All I can say is brilliant and would highly recommend anyone to use tidy gardens for you. Thank you. Ian and Kathryn Best.
My garden had been neglected for over years and I needed help. Ian's quote was reasonable. He was professional in manner, and listened to what I wanted done. In 5 hours he transformed the back garden, and gave me the confidence to employ him to clear the front garden, repair the decking/pergola and maintain the garden on a monthly basis. Unfortunately he did not maintain the garden, or repair the pergola. I had asked him to pave the front garden and he provided paving I had not chosen in a colour I did not want, and the workman he provided to do the work did not do a good job. I can provide pictures should you want them. This man is employed, and Tidy Gardens is a part time job for him. He works as Tidy Gardens mainly at weekends, if you want a job doing. He does not even own a van. His last promise to me was that he would put right the mistakes if I would allow him to remove his cement mixer. I agreed to this, but he never contacted me again. He blamed the poor workmanship on his employee and said he had sacked him. Be careful if you want to employ this man.Moreexpand_more
Ian recently came round and did various jobs for me in my garden and what a very professional and great businessman. I needed a few jobs doing some big some small and had been quoted over the odds by other local gardeners. A friend of mine recommended ian to me as he had done work for her previously. And he quoted me a brilliant price for the work I needed. I will never use another gardener again. He did a fantastic job and was very professional. I now have him come regularly to do regular maintenance! . Thankyou Ian!
Ian came round to do his quote to a very bare garden which required alot of work. He worked magic to keep the price down for us and completed the job for half the price of another local gardener quoted. He is a friendly down to earth guy who takes great pride in his job. My garden is now fully decked and flaged and looks great, he also put a fence and gate up for us all within a week. I would recomend him to anyone.
Ian always does over and above what is expected. His rates are excellent, and the finish of his work is perfect. He also tidy's up very well, which is good considering the name of His business is Tidy Gardens 4u! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
