Music Train is a gem. The new songs, the games and the chance to play real instruments make it a class that my little one really looks forward to. Every activity we do is carefully planned and expertly delivered, it’s a treat to attend. From the positive experience in the class, the children develop a special connection to music to take with them into the rest of their lives.
My son and I have attended music train for nearly five years now and we both have a great time during every class. Music train has helped my son's development in so many ways possible. Andrea is a wonderful, kind and an outstanding teacher. If we need perking up, I know my son and I definitely will when we are at music train.
Music Train teaches children many skills through a variety of fun, vibrant, visual activities; without realising it the children learn to listen, to wait their turn, to hear silence as well as noise, to contribute their own ideas as part of a group - all of which prepare them for school later on. The classes are very well planned and expose children to instruments that they may not otherwise hear until school age. I highly recommend Music Train for giving children early access to one of the most important things in life.
I took my eldest son to Music Train in Letchworth for 3 and a half years, from the time he was about 10months old and I now take my youngest son! Both boys absolutely love going to Music Train as there is so much to learn about music/instruments etc and Andrea is a wonderful teacher!
My daughter has been attending the group since she was 6 months and she LOVES it! The class organisation is top notch. The children are fully engaged throughout. Would say even if you only do one baby class, do this one!
My daughter and I began attending The Music Train classes when she was 6 months old. It has been, by far the most effective and enjoyable baby/toddler group we've been to. My daughter, now 2years old, was diagnosed with a grade 1 brain tumour when she was 9 months old which has had an effect on her development. The Music Train has given me tools, that are easy to apply in our daily lives, that have tremendously helped with my daughters development. We love The Music Train and would highly reccomend it to anyone wanting to spend a thoroughly delightful hour with their child.
My daughter and I thoroughly enjoy the Music Train sessions. It is a fast paced and fun time, led by a lovely and patient teacher. We get so much more out of the sessions than just music and my daughter has developed in confidence since going there. I would thoroughly recommend Music Train to anyone.
Music Train is fabulous. It is a well-structured, well thought out progressive course that is engaging, enjoyable and educational. The weekly classes subtly teach so many more concepts than just music, taking turns, confidence speaking in groups, colours, memory skills counting and reading (to name just a few). Each week follows the same format that the children quickly get used to and expect but within this there is a new topic every week to keep it fresh whilst also recapping on the previous weeks. The lessons plans are thoughtfully designed engaging even the most hyperactive children and incorporate frequent activity changes to suit different styles of learning. My children 3 and 1 have both been attending since they were 6 months and 3 weeks. Andrea is very likable, talented and skilled at what she does and quickly builds an easy rapport with children and adults alike. I can only hope when my children start music lessons in school they get a teacher as professional and enthusiastic as Andrea. Book you r child in now you won’t regret it!
We have recently had the pleasure of taking part in the summer holiday Music Train sessions in Letchworth, and both of my boys (3. 5 and 2) absolutely loved them. The teacher, Andrea, is so enthusiastic and passionate about her subject, she holds their attention remarkably well and has some lovely creative ideas. I love the fact that each child gets an instrument to play - how many children can say at this age that they've played an Indonesian dolphin rattle or Chinese coconut drum? ! We have signed up for the September termtime classes and I can't wait. Many thanks.
I've been taking my 3-year-old to Music Train classes since she was 5 months old, and she loves the classes and so do I! Not only have they helped her develop a good sense of rhythm and pitch, they've boosted her confidence in interacting with other children in a group setting which is a great pre-cursor to school. I've attended demo sessions of similar classes and I don't think they offer the same depth of tuition or progression between levels that Music Train offers.
This is a great class - my 2. 5 yr old and 6 month old both love it. Real instruments are used and every week is different. Educational as well as fun, I feel that I am getting good value for money and encouraging my little ones to get involved with music as early as possible.
Andrea and The Music Train is the highlight of my daughters week. Before the class has even started she is bouncing up and down and clapping with excitement. Every class is engaging and fun for the children (and adults). I could not recommend Andrea's class strongly enough.
I cannot recommend Andrea / Music Train highly enough. Her classes are well thought out in terms of a child's development, interactive (parent & child) and visually stimulating. She makes everyone feel very welcome and has a great rapport with the children. We love our Monday Music Train class!
As a trained musician myself, I am thoroughly impressed with the high standards of the Music Train classes which my daughter (4) and son (1) attend, the variety of musical concepts that are introduced in a clearly understandable way, the structured progress through the year, the interesting topics that are covered (one each term), and the calm yet enthusiastic manner that the teacher holds the children's attention. The kids learn so much, and have so much fun along with it! I would not hesitate to recommend these classes.
I've been going to Andrea's classes for a few years, starting when my youngest was a baby, then with both boys and now just with my 3 year old. MT is great for all ages, they have lots of fun and keep singing the songs all week. A fantastic way to start them loving and learning about music of all sorts.
I've been taking my son to Music Train for a couple of years and he really enjoys it. The most important thing to note is that real instruments are used: this isn't another class where you sing along to a CD. We've played the usual percussion instruments (claves, guiros etc) but they've also played with flutes, trumpets and French horns. You don't get that with Jo Jingles!
