I signed up for Music Train with Louise as an educational activity to occupy my 3-year-old grandson. We were made welcome from the start and I watched him grow in confidence week by week. He has thoroughly enjoyed learning about music rhythm, pitch etc and particularly liked the chime bars and keyboard work this term. I would definitely recommend the classes Louise runs in Welwyn Garden City.
There are so many music classes which are available for pre school children, and it is often hard to differentiate between them all, but this one is hands down the best one that I have attended with my two children. From the age of 3, my son has been learning about Charlie Crotchet and Mummy Minim, learning to identify notes on a keyboard, and he knows what 'forte' 'piano' and 'octave' mean. He has even had the experience of trying out various musical instruments such as the trumpet and flute. The sessions are always interactive and each week involves different engaging activities. Both my children love attending music train and it is not just another baby music class - far from it! A brilliant find and good value for money as well.
We joined Louise's 12-24 month old class this term and my son has loved it. Her open and engaging personality soon drew him out of his shell, and he loves to join in with the singing and actions. He is learning many wonderful skills including waiting his turn for instruments and tidying things away!
Music Train really is the best class I've taken my family to, and if you had to choose one class, this is it. Such good value, especially when you bring a brother or sister to the class, the sibling discount is the best I've found locally to me. Aside from this, Louise is brilliant with the little ones and really engages them. I've been coming to her classes since my daughter was 6 months, she is now 5 years old and recently just left Music Train to start full time school. I now bring her little brother who is 2 and has been coming since he was born. Whatever the age of your child, the Music Train is spot on with the learning and they have different age classes, so the sessions are age appropriate. But what I really love is that the theme of the class changes each term, so you never get bored. You could be learning about dinosaurs one term, and the next about the story of Peter and the Wolf and the classical music that goes with it. It really is more than just a music class, there will be a lesson structure each week and the children build upon what they have learnt at the previous class. Whether it's numbers, letters, musical instruments and their sounds, or my favourite is learning the musical notes. I commend the way the Music Train do this, it's a brilliant idea and really helps the children to understand music on a basic level. Come along and see, I highly recommend!Moreexpand_more
I have been attending Louise's Music Train classes with my two children for nearly four years. The sessions are fun, well paced and have given both children an excellent introduction to music that I am sure they will now take on and develop further as they grow up.
My 16 mth old has been going to the classes for 6 mths now and he loves them. I find that the variety of the class keeps him interested. Playing with different instruments, listening to music, playing games and listening to Louise play the guitar makes the class fun for him.
This is a class streets ahead of anything else I have tried. Both of my children have attended from 6 months until nursery age and loved every minute. The benefits of this class are a wonderful introduction to music and also a grounding in the cultural narrative of our country through Nursery rhymes and songs. Louise gives so much of herself in the classes and amazingly remembers each child's name. A truly great class worth every penny.
My daughter has been attending Louise's Music Train classes for over 2 years now. I find the classes really well structured and as my daughter has moved up groups have seen how the classes change to match the pre-school age group perfectly. Louise combines fun with musical learning to make each session both useful and enjoyable.
My children have been attending Louise's Music Train classes for over 2 years now. It's really well structured and she's excellent at keeping the children's attention - not easy in a room full of pre-schoolers! The mix of fun (including bubbles, bouncy balls etc) and gentle introduction to musical learning has worked for us. I particularly like the use of real instruments as well as recorded music.
