About The Maestro Online
The highest quality pedagogical singing, vocal, organ, piano, composition, theory and aural lessons available online and in person. Pedagogy is at the heart of my method. My theories on aural teaching have been published in a book by Routledge this year (2021). I am classically trained and yet, as a jazz pianist, reached no. 33 globally in the Reverbnation charts (Dr Ivor E Keys). I teach from the youngest beginners to the most advanced diplomas and am a diploma examiner.
Piano lessons: classical, jazz and pop. Classical lessons are not simply traditional lessons, but they focus on the music and your emotional connection with it as well as how you hear it in your head so that you create a more musical performance. Jazz lessons include improvisation, naturally, as well as ways to arrange the "head". Pop lessons focus on chart hits and rely less on notation and more on a personal response, developing your own piano covers.
Singing lessons and Vocal coach work centres around the individual. It focuses on enhancing tone and support from the core, creating a wider tessitura (pitch range) and wider variety of vocal colours in order to enhance expression.
Resonance, breathing, tone, intonation etc are all integral to all lessons and the lessons respond to you, what you need to develop and how to enable these things with ease.
Organ lessons are a specialism leading right up to the top diplomas. I am an academy teacher for the Royal College of Organists and specialise not just in playing, but improvisation teaching, aural teaching and paperwork such as history of music, development of the organ, harmonising in the style of Bach, writing fugues etc.
I am a specialist in delivering advanced aural training and this is recognised in my chapter in Routledge's latest publication. I am inspired by people such as Kodaly and particularly focus on the inner ear with lots of practical activities to further develop your skills.0 FreeIndex Reviews
