If I could give half a star, I would. Could not believe the lack of professionalism and efficiency. One of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. I brought my old ipad to them as it was running slowly because the battery needed to be replaced. I asked what the turn around time would be and they said one day, maybe two. Over a week later, still no ipad and I'm beginning to get the run around from macman. Finally, they admit to me that my ipad has stopped working entirely, they do not know what they've done to it but they cannot get it to turn back on. Not only did they show no remorse for rendering my ipad entirely useless, they evaded responsibility entirely, offering me no solutions or compensation. After a little pushing, they offered me £50 off an old refurbished ipad, a mere pittance in comparison to the value my ipad held before it was relinquished into their custody. After weeks of negotiation via email and telephone, I finally got them to (very begrudgingly) provide me with £100 off an older model refurbished ipad. This almost felt like a win considering the amount of time and effort I'd spent in order to get any sort of equitable compensation, but they decided to screw me over one last time charging me £40 more than THE APPLE STORE CHARGED FOR A NEW ONE. So considering this and the fact that I could've easily sold my original ipad for £150 online, used, in the condition it was, I literally would've been better off if I had never even heard the name Macman. The icing on the cake is that every single person that I dealt with at the shop was so rude and inconsiderate every single time I had to contact them, even though I had done nothing untoward to them and they were the ones that broke my ipad, then made me fight for weeks just to get fair compensation for their negligence.Moreexpand_more
Awful customer service! I had lost my iphone and ordered one (in 'excellent condition') from Mac Man online (and paid for it). I then get emailed the next day to say that they are sorry but the phone I had bought had been sold in the shop and they were re-funding the money. No offers of help save that I could pay nearly £100 more for the next model up or a phone for a bit less money but with half the GB and in 'average condition'. You would think they would be extremely apologetic, but no, the email berated me for not answering my phone when they called (because I had lost it! ) This was despite me phoning them the minute I had placed the order, explained the circumstances and offered to collect it from their shop because I was desperate for the phone. I was told that I had to wait for it to be delivered because of the danger of fraudulent purchases (which is fair enough), but how do they then make this mistake having just spoken to me? ! Absolutely awful and they really couldn't care less!
IPad screen repair. Dropped ipad and smashed screen. The Mac Man carried out a fantastic repair at a very reasonable cost. The iPad came back as new. I am now taking advantage of the great offer on iPhone repairs to have a new battery fitted in my phone. I will continue to use these guys and recommend to family and friends.
Third time now we've used these guys, one repair (hard disk failure), one upgrade (SSD Fusion :) ), one retail sale (Apple TVs). Repair and upgrades were both done within the admittedly rather tight time schedule I had given them as both are office machines and minimal downtime was paramount. I also now have the cleanest 27" iMac screen known to man.
Well what can one say. Hard drive went done the day before Christmas Eve. A phone call. A delivery of the suspect machine to Brighton and then just like the wizard of oz it was repaired magically and all the old data somehow transferred over to the new disc. Don't even think of going elsewhere, these guys are it, and they even offered me chocolates when I picked up the IMac. It's a no brainer. Apple shop with blue tee shirts and appointments or good old customer service, a reasonable bill and chocolates. You win for me Mr Mac. Thank you for saving me.
Macbook Pro Hard Drive Crashed. At first I visited the Apple Store who quickly diagnosed the problem. They could fix it and this would only take a a few days. The cost was reasonable so whats the catch ? They wouldn't retrieve lost data as its "against company policy" they wouldn't give me my old hard drive back so I could get the recovery done by others as it was "against company policy"So I had a problem get the hard drive replaced and loose data from last back up (4 months ago I admit ) I had seen MacMan opposite a music studio I use. Not in the centre of Brighton but in the back streets - not really the location you think of with Apple Products. But like all things in Cities the best is not in the centres the gems are hidden away. In a World were everybody can sell but can't provide backup service Mac Man was all I ask for. Hard Disk Repaced, Data Recovered and put back on machine. External Hard Drive also backed up AND all in 3 days same price as Apple including the "against company policy" bits. Job Done.Moreexpand_more
Make no mistake, if you need help with your Mac these guys are the best! I've used others but I need not look any further in the future now I have my Friends @Mac-Man who have carried out repairs and helped me with Software understanding and use. Chris Anderson. Normans Bay, Pevensey. East Sussex. A Mac user for over 7 years.
Friendly and prompt service. After sale support superb. Restarting machine after repair not as straightforward as expected and some downloaded, non-standard, software not re-installed. After a bit of work got the Mac back to work and now only missing two minor software packages which will be restored off-line by myself.
Basically I had asked the impossible - restoring a wireless link for data transfer between two computers that turned out to be incompatible! However, he tried every possible trick, plus a few, and in the end I had to accept that it wasn't going to happen. But he could not have been more thorough.
At last I have found a friendly, knowledgeable outlet that advises, fixes and cares not just for Apple Macs, but also for the customer. I am so delighted with the service, skill and knowledge if these lovely guys and I just became a regular customer and would never go to the iStore or Apple Store again having found this lovely shop in Brighton - Thanks again to you all - Tom Glynn.
Thank goodness for this company. I can't recommend them enough! I had spilled white wine on my Macbook Air and it would not boot up. I attempted some repairs myself, but after three weeks, realised that I was out of my depth. I took it to Apple for assessment and was told the repairs would likely cost me anything upwards of £500. The Mac Man (men) were courteous, friendly helpful and very professional. Their customer care is excellent and the team worked efficiently to solve my problem. I was kept informed from start to finish and the whole job took 3 days! To say I am ecstatic may be an understatement. The total cost for the repair came to £382.50, so quite a saving, which also pleased me. Please don't hesitate to contact The Mac Man for anything. I'm sure you'll be as happy as I am with the service you receive. I know where to go next time.Moreexpand_more
