A Choir with an International Reputation.
Since 1947, the From Make Voice Choir has grown from its roots in Froncysyllte into one of Wales’ most recognised choirs. Now based in nearby Ruabon, the choir performs across the UK and internationally, bringing together nearly eighty years of musical tradition with an exciting and varied concert programme. Its recordings have achieved Gold and Platinum sales, while today the choir reaches listeners in more than 170 countries through digital streaming. With over 40,000 monthly listeners and music featured in more than 8,000 personal playlists, the Fron continues to attract new audiences across the world.
A Legacy of Musical Excellence.
Throughout its history, the From Make Voice Choir has earned an outstanding competition record, winning first prizes at many of the UK’s and Europe’s most prestigious competitions. These include multiple victories at the Royal National Eisteddfod of Wales, the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod and the BBC Wales Male Voice Choir of the Year competition, together with success at international festivals in Malta, Germany, Greece, Northern Ireland and Cornwall. This tradition of excellence continues to underpin everything the choir does today.

The Fron performs in theatres, churches, concert halls, festivals, sporting venues and corporate events, presenting programmes that range from traditional Welsh favourites to music from the stage and screen, classical works and contemporary arrangements. The choir has worked with organisations including Kellogg’s, JCB and Wrexham AFC and have sung in a club's adverts and in Season five of the Disney+ documentary “Welcome to Wrexham”. The Fron also feature in the Sky Arts documentary series "Voices of the Valleys”, highlighting the dedication and passion behind one of Wales’ leading male voice choirs.

We recently got married and were delighted to have the Fron Choir sing for us at the church and venue and they absolutely raised the roof. From start to finish, the communication between officers and ourselves to discuss details of the wedding and our chosen songs was flawless. We were invited several weeks before hand to hear our chosen songs, and the choir were very welcoming and open when asked to potentially learn some new songs. The choir were faultless in their performance, singing a variety of different genres of music which added so many dynamics to the service and each one was sung to perfection. The choir were well organised and really added that sparkle to an amazing day, with the guests commenting in their droves on how much of an amazing experience hearing the choir sing in the church was. We would 100% recommend the Fron Choir to anyone wanting a choir at their wedding, you definitely will not be disappointed.

I first attended a Fron Male Voice Choir concert about 40 years ago, and I have been going back ever since. Over the years, I’ve been fortunate enough to attend most of their Christmas concerts at the New Vic in Newcastle-under-Lyme - nearly 40 in all. The few I’ve missed were simply because the concerts sold out before I realised quite how quickly they would disappear. These days, I make sure to book as soon as the tickets go on sale. That regular return speaks for itself: Fron are a choir that people want to hear year after year. Their concerts are not just events, but traditions - uplifting, moving, and always beautifully performed. There is something wonderfully reassuring about returning to a performance that combines musical excellence with warmth, atmosphere, and a real sense of occasion. For me, Fron’s Christmas concert has become part of the season itself, and I would not want to miss it.
