BAFTS - British Association for Fair Trade Sh...The FAIR Trade Store is a UK-based online retailer of unique, handmade, Fair Trade products, ethnic jewellery, funky handbags, recycled fashion accessories, homeware and Fairtrade gifts. It also offers gift vouchers too, which are ideal as presents or corporate rewards or incentives.
The FAIR Trade Store was established in February, 2009 and operates from an office and warehouse in Southport, Merseyside.
A wide range of ethical products are offered, such as fair trade jewellery, bags, accessories, homeware and stationery, including many eco and recycled products. All products have been carefully sourced from UK-based suppliers and importers who work directly with the producers in the developing world. This personal relationship ensures that Fair Trade benefits are passed on to the actual producers, their families and their communities.
The FAIR Trade Store's website is attractively designed and informative, explaining exactly what Fair Trade is all about and has stories and pictures of many of the producers that benefit from the 'trade not aid' principles of Fair Trade. Navigation is easy and there are state of the art security features built-in to allow shopping in a safe, secure and enjoyable way.
The many beautiful, unique, handmade gifts on offer can not be found for sale in the supermarkets or high street stores. Most credit and debit cards, as well as PayPal are accepted as payment online.
The FAIR Trade Store has already developed a loyal group of customers throughout the UK and is looking to build on this by embarking on a number of events selling direct to the public at craft and gift fairs, churches, business head offices, community event days, etc. A professional stall will be set up selling a full range of fantastic fair trade gifts and goodies. The business is owned and managed by Paul Wolfenden, who has been working in the Fair Trade sector for a number of years, having previously worked for various national supermarkets as a buyer.
We are proud members of The British Association for Fair Trade Shops and Suppliers (BAFTS).
With just a handful of hard working volunteers, The FAIR Trade Store has a growing team, highly committed and passionate.

I have never purchased fair trade products before, but my best friend told me about the website when she stumbled upon it while buying a gift for her mum. I bought my mum a Dark Brown Leather bag for her birthday and she loves it. The bag was made in India by Madhya Kalikata Shilpangan.
