About Takemusu Aikido Kai Norwich
Takemusu aikido kai Norwich offers martial arts training in aikido. The chief instructor has over thirty five years experience and is a 7th Dan Master Instructor (shihan) with a British Aikido Board coaching qualification.
Aikido is a very effective martial art taught to police and army. It does not require strength or fitness as techniques are applied without muscular effort while using the momentum of an attacker, it is therefore appropriate for all ages and both sexes. Current club membership includes 4 women and students ranging in age from mid 20s to mid 70s.
We operate a very friendly club where everyone helps everyone else to achieve the best they can. As aikido techniques involve locks, pins and throws a key element of training is learning how to fall or be thrown safely. As well as self-defence the benefits or aikido training includes: self-confidence, improved balance and posture; improved fitness and flexibility; better awareness and lower stress levels. Aikido teaches its practitioners to blend with incoming aggression rather than directly confront it. This is a lesson that can be usefully applied to many life experiences.
