Swimming Class UK is an independent swimming tuition provider specializing exclusively in private, 1-to-1 coaching. Founded by Brian FitzGerald, our mission is to move away from the "one-size-fits-all" approach of leisure centre group lessons. We believe that whether you are overcoming a lifelong fear of water or training for an Ironman, you deserve the undivided attention of an expert coach.

Operating across London and Hertfordshire, we provide a calm, professional, and highly effective environment. Adult Private Lessons and Aquaphobia: Specializing in nervous beginners, we use our private 30°C pool in Arkley, Barnet, to build confidence in a secluded, non-judgmental setting.

Performance and Triathlon Coaching: Aimed at club swimmers and athletes, we provide high-level stroke analysis, open water adaptation, and efficiency training at our Borehamwood competition pool venue.

Premium Home Visits: For ultimate convenience, our coaches travel to private home pools throughout London and Hertfordshire. We work discreetly with high-net-worth families and busy professionals 7 days a week.

Specialist Instruction: Our team is highly experienced in SEN (Special Educational Needs) swimming and adapts lessons to suit every physical and cognitive requirement.

The foundation of Swimming Class UK was laid in the early 1990s when founder Brian FitzGerald began his professional coaching career. After two decades of refining his methodology and helping thousands of swimmers find their stroke, Brian officially launched Swimming Class UK in North London in 2012.

What started as a local bespoke service has grown into a highly respected network of qualified professionals. Brian remains the lead coach, bringing his 30+ years of experience - including coaching Premier League footballers and elite athletes - to every aspect of the business. We are not a franchise; we are a legacy-built coaching practice that remains committed to the same high standards of ASA and STA-certified excellence that we started with over a decade ago.
