About Swift BNG
Swift BNG sells statutory biodiversity net gain units to developers anywhere in England. The units come from assessed habitat banks, some managed by us and others run by operators we work alongside. We take care of the sale itself, from the first enquiry through to allocation on the national biodiversity gain sites register.
Most new development in England has to show a biodiversity gain of at least 10%. When a scheme cannot reach that inside its own boundary, the shortfall can be made up with off-site units. Send us your biodiversity metric and we will work out what you need, then give you a written quote setting out the unit types, quantities and price. Quotes hold for three months, and there is an option to reserve units.
We also work with landowners whose lower-yielding land could become a habitat bank. The land stays in your ownership, there is no upfront cost to you, and the arrangement runs for thirty years. There is no set minimum size. What decides it is whether a site can carry the legal, ecological and registration costs of setting a bank up.
Where a development sits in a catchment covered by nutrient neutrality, planning permission can be held up until the extra nitrogen or phosphorus it adds is mitigated.
We advise on those cases and have ongoing schemes, which are usually shaped around the particular development and its catchment.0 FreeIndex Reviews
