Mark has done a series of jobs for me, the biggest being a bathroom refurbishment. All done to an excellent standard. Mark was always punctual, tidy, helpful and courteous. Also done within the predicted time frame!

We highly recommend Mark. He converted our garage into a gym and did a great job. He was here every day when he said he would and left the place very clean.

A pleasure to deal to find a reliable builder as friendly, professional and honest as Mark. He (and James) have done a couple of jobs for us over the last few months, most recently a small electrical job that he surveyed, quoted and completed within days. He has previously helped us with a larger remodelling job and replacing blown bricks. We would wholeheartedly recommend him, without hesitation.

I contacted Mark from Swains of Royal Berkshire, for a quote to install a shower screen over my bath. From start to finish, Mark provided the best service, which wasn’t only prompt, it was inexpensive and installed within a couple of days of its arrival. Mark was able to recommend the screen for me, which suited what I’d asked for, perfectly.

I asked Mark to fit a bathroom in my cabin. I was so pleased with the result I got him to do my main bathroom too. Very high quality work at a good price. Mark does what he says when he says for the price he says. Thats a rare thing! Highly recommended.

Contacted to build and place an armored self assembly garage. The base area was prepared quickly and construction started quickly. The garage was put up and finished professionally, with everything smoothly installed and sealed nicely. The guys were friendly and professional throughout and I would happily go back for any other work I have. I would (and have) recommended them.

Repairs after water leak including replastering, floorboard replacement, fireplace surround and hearthstone removal, moving a gas pipe under the floor and redecorating. Your professional manner and honest approach were a real breath of fresh air and made the whole horrible process with the water damage from our neighbour's property that much more tolerable. The standard of your work is similarly classy and your customer service top notch. Both the Jameses you brought in - the gas man and the decorator - were also charming, patient and appreciative of tea. After the recent experiences we've had with both our neighbours' builders and from stories from friends, I'm pleased to say you give builders a good name and we would be more than happy to have you back - although under better circumstances! Thank you.

Installed a pump for a shower. As usual they are polite, no mess and do a very high quality job.

When choosing a contractor to work in your house, the most important thing is trust, and I absolutely trust these guys 100%. I could perhaps point at a bit of attention to detail here and there, but that would be churlish given their flexibility and how they pulled this project in, despite some challenging personal circumstances. They delivered to the brief and beyond, and I would happily recommend them to anyone.

This is the second time we have used Swain and Jones. The first occasion was for some plastering that was done to such a high standard that when the time came to renovate the entire interior of our large Victorian house we knew exactly who to call. Despite the scale of the job (new bathroom, new floor joists, large sections of re-plastering, radiator moving, re-flooring, complete room renovation in two bedrooms, installation of fireplaces, repainting all walls and internal woodwork, installation of new lighting, rewiring etc etc etc) they provided an excellent quote, and despite our rather elastic approach to this quote at times absolutely nothing was too much to ask, extra jobs were taken on without question, and Mark and Paul were never anything other than ultra flexible and exceptionally user friendly, not to mention really friendly, polite and easy to get on with. We were kept up to date with all aspects of the work, the house was left clean and tidy after each day, and considering the massive domestic upheaval that was involved, what with the entire interior of the house having to be moved around in order that the renovation works could move from room to room, we were never unduly inconvenienced. The end result is amazing and considering the amount of work they did represents spectacular value for money. If they ever recover from trimming literally hundreds of metro style bathroom tiles to stick on four completely uneven and out of line Victorian bathroom walls we'd be more than happy to call them first for any more work in the future….

Recommended via a social network site I was always a little dubious, however I was really impressed with all aspects of the service. Reasonably priced and well finished, very impressed and would highly recommend and definitely use again, thanks guys.

I arranged to have my bathroom regrouted. A small job that many companies had not even bothered to quote for. Mark sorted everything quickly and told me what was going on at each step. He was understanding when I had to change the date. Paul did the job, he was polite and made sure that he had understood what needed doing and that I was OK with everything as he went along. Would definitely recommend them.

Mark and Paul recently revamped a bathroom for me that included replacing the bath, laid new flooring and replaced several cracked tiles. They turned up on time, did an exceptional job and left no mess either. Both were super friendly aswell. Very very happy with the job done and would recommend to anyone who needing work doing. As soon as funds allow i'll hopefully getting them back to revamp the next room on my list!

I moved into a new has and had light fittings that needed changing as well as a dimmer switch. They were on time, did not make a mess and it was done very quick and efficient. I have had no problems and it has been a few months since they did the job. I would definitely recommend them.

I am very impressed with all the work completed. The quality of the work is outstanding. Both of the fitters that completed our bathroom informed us about everything they were doing and they were extremely thorough. They made sure our bathroom was completed to a high standard.

Mark and Paul were extremely professional and attentive from start to finish. They did a fantastic job on a garage to utility room conversion which included electrical re-wiring, plumbing, brickwork, insulation, plastering, laying flooring and fitting sliding patio doors. Furthermore they were very patient with my crazy dog and attention seeking 3 year old daughter - she really misses them! We are delighted with the work and cannot recommend them highly enough. We plan to use them again for a kitchen installation in the near future.
