It was provided an English language correction for a medical article. The correction helped me in the grammatical aspects. However, in at least twenty points throughout the text, the meaning of the phrases was changed. Example: in the first page, in the section "abstract", the phrase "POPULATION: Births of normally formed fetuses from single pregnancies with 37 or more weeks, . . . " was changed to "POPULATION: Liveborn foetuses from single pregnancies formed at 37 or more weeks, . . . " First, the foetuses are not formed at 37 weeks. We mean, with "normally formed foetuses. . . With 37 or more weeks", that foetal malformations were excluded, and that were also excluded premature births (this form of writing was taken from another article written by an Irish author). Second, the units of this research were the births, and not the foetuses, because were studied the relations between the maternal and foetal/neonatal data. As mentioned before, there are many other examples in the text. I believe that this happened because medical language has its own specificities. I have the impression that, most of the times, these problems happened when the reviwer tried to change the "style". Thanks.Moreexpand_more
As dyslexic proofreading is not my strong point and when i was working on my dissertation i realised i needed help. StudentProofreading provide an amazing service, that represents both great value for money and fantastic customer service. The communication regulaar and informative, and there was a quick turnaround in work. I would not hesitate in reccomededing this service to anyone.
I sent my work which was more than 15,000 words. They are very cooperative and I recieved my work within few days, it was really orgnized. I expanded my work and sent it back to studentProofreading and they did their best to help me to get it back within one day. I really appreciate their help and I am so happy to deal with them.
Excellent service as my work involves unconventional ways of expressing ideas by using 'implication arrows' which express connections and implications in dealing with Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics. The proofreader was able to suggest better ways of expressing my ideas, it was as though she could read my mind! Many thanks and more work will follow. Somo.
