Definition of Service Provided:
Stamford Voice Coaching is a well established (since 1997) indie Performance Voice Coaching service for singers and public speakers. The service I provide is not siniging lessons reading music, or with certified grades. Singing teachers are frequently my customers when requiring voice building/coaching for delivering grade 6. I provide coaching to singers working in various genres and to various other entertainers. In contrast, my public speaking customers range from milestone celebrants and the best man at weddings, to school teachers, civil service officers, bankers, and politicians.

Covering breathing and muscle building for vocal performance, note pitching, vocal clarity, range maximization, effective use of the voice, voice protection, performance stamina, and microphone technique if required, all resulting in voice confidence.

Though not a therapy service, some clients with stammer and monotone have also found the service helpful towards helping to overcome their speaking difficulties.

Please see the "Reviews" section for dated reviews left by clients.
(not on google reviews or trustpilot etc).

Suitability:
"Performance Voice Coaching" (USA) also known as "Belt Voice" (Europe) is not suitable for minors under age 16 because of the muscle building involved. This is in keeping with Italian Opera Training advice. My "Performance Voice Coaching" service is therefore of no use use to young students seeking to obtain LAMBA credits. It is ideal for those above the age of sixteen wanting to perform singing or speaking, without all the formal certificates/academic processes.

Minors to be accompanied.
Adults: No third party bookings (as gifts etc).
One to one service only.

My name is Geri, I am 16 years old. During June and July of this year, I was given the opportunity to have voice coach sessions with Brian Harris. I've always been very keen on singing and have, in the past, been a member of various school choirs and productions. Until my first lesson with Brian I hadn't realised how important warm-up exercises and breathing techniques were to getting the best out of my voice. Brian gave me confidence in projecting my voice using different pitches and tones. He also gave me various CD's with excersises to practice at home, to build my vocal chords and strengthen my diaphragm. Importantly, he also explained so many new ways of looking after my voice, including which foods and drinks were most beneficial for the clearest outcome. Brian answered all my questions and queries, including the best genre of music to suit my voice. I recommened anyone who is considering singing, especially at GCSE or at A level, to have the experience of Brian's coaching. At this age, he can guide and develop your voice to the best possible standard. I thoroughly enjoyed my vocal coaching sessions with Brian, and would happily endorse his coaching methods to anyone.Moreexpand_more

I went to Brian because I wanted to improve my public speaking voice for work purposes, and to see if my singing voice was as bad as I had always believed it was. Brian did enable me to make better use of my public speaking voice and how to 'fill' the room and use the space I'm speaking in. Which was great. As for my singing voice, I've gone from not wanting anyone to hear me sing, to singing solo in a small band. It's very early days as far as the band is concerned but, thanks to Brian's coaching methods, I feel I'm well on my way to having a singing voice I feel confident in. You do have to do your homework – I think I got more out of the coaching because I put a lot in to it. But it's been SO worth it. I can't thank Brian enough and hope to go back for some follow up sessions in the near future.

Brian gave me four lessons over a period of about 2 months. I'd never had a singing lesson before but the way he teaches from the ground up has giving give me immense conference to go on stage and finally sing with real power and conviction. Cannot recommend highly enough.

My 17 year old daughter has just completed 4 lessons with Brian. The aim of the lessons was to enable my daughter to increase the strength of her voice and increase her note capability. We have been very impressed with Brian's professional approach to his work. He has set my daughter exercises to follow each lesson which has enabled her to reach her target. His instructions to my daughter were clear and eay to follow. Following each lesson Brian sent me an email updating me on the lesson and telling me what work needed to be completed before the next lesson. Brian's approach has been friendly and helpful, but always very professional. My daughter says Brian is a very good teacher and that the time spent with him has been really useful. I as her Mother have gained numerous brownie points for finding her such a good teacher, without us having to travel further afield. As the person paying the bill I found it very helpful that Brian was able to be so clear about the cost. I told him what my daughter required and he told me how many lessons it would take and how much it would cost. Anyone requiring voice coaching would do well to contact Brian. I won't hesitate to use him in future should my daughter require further help.Moreexpand_more

Stamford Voice Coaching helped me no-end in improving confidence, voice and pitch control in singing aswell as in general day-to-day conversation. My voice is now stronger in singing and in conversation, and have had many people comment on confidence in both these areas. Mr Harris was very clear in his teaching, as well as putting me completely at ease. I'd never sung in front of anyone ever before! I would recommend to absolutely anyone, whether musically inclined or just wanting to improve their clarity of conversation. Very good value for money!
