I required the repair of two collapsed wooden garden panels. I rang this gentleman and the work was carried out totally to my satisfaction 24 hours later. The price quoted was more than acceptable and I will certainly be availing myself of his services in future. I am at a loss as to how anyone could award less than five stars.

Austen replaced a fencing panel, cleared up some old fencing and tidied both my front and back garden. He did a very good job, was punctual, communicated clearly and worked hard all afternoon. Delighted to have a much tidier garden!

We needed two sections of fencing replacing (about 100 feet in total) in a sloping garden and had struggled to either find someone willing to take it on, or to do so at a sensible price. That is until we came across South East London Garden Maintenance and Fencing. On first contact by phone Austen was helpful and knowledgeable, which gave us confidence to go ahead with his reasonable quote and advice. It was a big job taking the best part of a week to complete, which Austen did single handed, taking down the old fence and disposing of it along with lots of overgrowing ivy, and putting up the new fence. Also, he was very willing to undertake some additional work for a small extra charge. I would have no hesitation in recommending Austen to others, and we now know who to contact for future works and garden maintenance.

Excellent job from Austen. A quick response to my initial enquiry for garden clearance (from exceedingly overgrown to very tidy) and fencing. Not only did he do a great, speedy job but offered help with next steps and kept everything to budget. He was amenable and helpful through the whole process, no matter how stupid my questions. I would thoroughly recommend.

Austen put up a new fence in our back garden and dismantled a large quantity of decking that was no longer required. He gave sound advice on type of fencing that would be most suitable and last longest. He was reliable, pragmatic and pleasant. Not the cheapest quote we had, but we would use him again.

Austen responded quickly to my email enquiry for garden clearance and he turned up punctually to give me a quote. His costings were very reasonable and he did a first class job clearing our front and back gardens which were badly overgrown and laying wood chippings over the central area. He did the work over four days and on each occasion he arrived promptly at the time agreed and worked efficiently and quickly during the whole time he was with us. He also tidied up before leaving each day. Austen is a pleasant person and was willing to be flexible in order to do the job thoroughly and in accordance with our wishes. The garden clearance proved to be much harder than we had first anticipated but he rose to the challenge without complaint and was keen to do a good job. We have arranged with him to come back on a monthly basis to keep the garden tidy, so we have no hesitation in recommending his services.

Superb work at reasonable rates from a nice and trustworthy man. Austen repaired a trellis for us, did some pruning and weed strimming, spun the soil in a small border and offered some advice on restarting a neglected tenancy garden. He was prompt, communicative, generous with his time. Hardworking, and nice to chat to. Highly recommended.

This was a contract where time was of the essence and it was completed in the time required and to a superb standard, not only in my opinion, but also that of my neighbours and friends who have seen the fence since it was erected. Austen has been our gardener since July 2010. He has done a fantastic job turning a very overgrown garden into a well maintained space. He visits once a month, twice when there is significant growth. Each year he gives us great advice as to what plants we can buy and what will look good. He has been incredibly reliable, always doing what he says he will do and uses all his own machinery and tools. I very much recommend him.

Austen Jones is given work by my estate agency in the form of gardening and wider, but minor repairs to property, along with some re-decorative jobs. I find him a solid and efficient operator and not without some useful initiatives and suggestions.

Mr Austen came to do a maintenance job on Saturday 25th Augustwith agreement of a fence repair to be done at a later date. The service was dissappointing as I was quoted for my tree to be trimmed but the gentleman was in a rush and did not complete the job to a satisfactory finish. As it was starting to rain the grass was cut in a rush and look unlevel and shabby. From the back garden to the front door my flooring area was left in a terrible state from grass and mud everywhere. Mr Austen did not offer to clear up his mess. On top of this my hose pipe which was put on the decking by Mr Austen was cut in three different places witha sharp object. I asked for a small refund to cover the cost of a new one or for one to be replaced and was told it was not his fault. In terms of the fencing it was at the end of the job that I was told this was not something he could do as he worked alone. (although this was the main reason for the the job request)I found him to be very unproffessoinal, aggitated and non acceptance of the damage to my hose pipe. I contacted SE London Garden Maintenance to repair my fencing following recent storms. They came around to give a quote very promptly and gave a reasonable priceAbsolutely no problem with leaving them to it and without any fuss, they removed the old fencing and erected a new feather edged fence. Great job and I'm very glad I found them.
