About SMG Image Solutions
SMG Image Solutions is able offer several services including photo scanning, restoration and retouching, blended photo collages and scanning slides and negatives.
I am located in Weston Super Mare and have over 20 years’ experience working in photo restoration.
I am able to provide a range of photo restoration and image services that are unique and personal. Customers are guaranteed to receive a personal consultation from me before and after work is completed, this is to ensure the work has been done to the customer’s own specifications.
I am able to provide a range of photographic services including restoration, retouching of scratched and torn photos, colouring black and white photos, enhancement of faded photos, blended photo collage/montage and, slide and negative conversions.
For restorations - If more convenient, all photographs can be scanned by the customer and emailed using the address provided or I am able to scan the photo myself using the latest Digital Ice technology. Scans are done at 600dpi or above depending on the quality of the photo. Once the photo is digitalised, it will then be restored in Photoshop. If desired the photo can be uploaded onto my Facebook page and if the customer is satisfied with the result, the photo can be printed and sent out to the customer by 1st Class post, can be picked up or hand delivered if in local area.
For blended collages - All photos will be restored/enhanced and I will merge the photos together, adding text if required. Blended collages will require time to complete so need to be ordered in advance for any special occasion orders. Prices are calculated on the number of photos needed for the collage. Any restoration/enhancement for blended collages is included in the price.
For scanning negatives and slides, please request a quote.
Restorations start at just £8 for a basic restoration of a faded photo, but for severely damaged photos the cost can go up to as much as £60 or more. For example, where the photograph is badly creased, cracked or torn, with pieces missing for the actual photograph and from faces. However, I will give an estimate before I proceed with the photo restoration. I work on a digital copy of the original photograph and will always do a sympathetic restoration, keeping the photograph as near to the original as possible.
