Staff were very friendly and helpful, clear with procedure and patient with a que of folk to deal with. No stress. Everything ran smoothly and on time as scheduled. Instructors were totally skilled and put one at ease, worked with you really well and kept spirits high from jump to jump non stop as people rotated in and out. The kit is all complete and surprisingly very warm! All sizes covered for. Despite the insanity of jumping out of a plane I felt totally safe. The efficiency made the experience even better. Least to say an amazing experience! By itself made even more amazing with the help everyone offers. Do remember to bring some cash with you for a cuppa as the cafe only takes cash which also offers a relaxing atmosphere to enter into as well as clear views of people doing their jumps outside to gaze upon. A real good balance of calm with excitement. To be enjoyed again!Moreexpand_more
Just did my first ever jump - tandemed with 'Wes' - unbelievably I was not at all nervous mainly due to the down to earth nature and humour from the guys there. Wes was very supportive and encouraging throughout. I would definitely recommend the centre. Unfortunately I didn't opt for the DVD package and am kicking myself but it means I have an excuse to return to do it all again!
About two years ago I did a skydive for the first time ever and thought I'd combine the experience and achievement, by fundraising for cancer research in memory of my mum. I have a friend who works for skydive Hibaldstow and he helped me arrange this and videoed my jump, which I was very grateful for. I was very excited about doing it despite my nervousness or fear of heights. I was greatly encouraged and was looked after well, and everything was explained in a very clear way, putting me at ease. It wasn't the heights that actually got to me but just that strange feeling of falling which only lasted for a short time. It was more like a roller coaster ride ( something of which I avoid ), but it was an amazing experience and one not to be missed. Those few moments of free fall, then gliding with the parachute out and such a wonderful view was amazing. To see so far all around was beautiful. I would definitely recommend anyone to add this to their list of things to do, to get out there and have an adventure. You never know you might end up hooked! I am very glad I got to do it.Moreexpand_more
Making my first tandem jump was the best thing I ever did 6 years ago. It all started with a tandem skydive for charity and then I decided I really wanted to know more. My AFF course lasted about 1 month after which, I was qualified to jump by myself! Since then, I'm now on a 4-way team competing at competitions and have made lots of friends as part of the Hib community. It's changed my life in so many ways, so I thoroughly recommend you make your first jump also!
Experience of a life time, briefing was clearly explained and comforting, reassurance was offered throughout and my tandem instructor Mal was a star. I love my dvd and I will treasure my dream experience for ever. I am happy to say that not only am I proud of myself achievement but that what I did today will benefit the orphan children in Malawi. Recommend Hibaldstow to anyone that has the courage to jump. Staff at the site were very friendly and the facilities were very well maintained.
Overall it was a well worth experiance the coaching staff were very experianced & totally switched on for your safety and care prior to & during the full jump. From the check in to checking out the instructor /staff were first class. I would have no problems at all to tell people to experiance this event at Sky Dive Hibaldstow I will be Back ! The overall rating for this event 100% in all catagories.
Yesterday (12. 8. 10) my mind was blown by taking part in my first tandem skydiive jump! I thought I would be scared stiff but my instructor Baldrick and tandem partner Olly were cool, fun and proffessional throughout. As I am scared of heights, I thought the initial leap from the plane would be hard - but even though it was very breathtaking - not half as bad as I imagined! The freefall was awesome but the parachute bit was the best as the views are breathtaking. Olly did a few fun spins on the way down which arent as scary as they look from the ground! The rain had stopped and the sun was shining on the fields - amazing! I had my experience filmed which was worth every penny! From getting togged up to landing - My husband, kids and friends have laughed for ages at the dvd and pics - which are good quality too! Many thanks to all the staff who are all so calm, fun and friendly - and made it a day to remember! Xx.Moreexpand_more
Me and my parents jumped on 10/08/10. The staff were all very, very friendly, approachable and helpful. They were all happy to talk about their skydiving experience which was interesting to hear about. In the briefing they emphasised safety which eased our nerves. The jump was fantastic for all of us - Olly my instructor was awesome with everything and my parents were able to steer their parachute! I would definitely recommend Skydive Hibaldstow, it was totally worth it and I will absolutely be going there again :).
I have just got back from my first ever tandem skydive. Wes looked after me from start to finish and talked me through everything. The free fall was great and steering the parachute my self was amazing. I recommend the DVD option because the quality is amazing and Olly my cameraman did a great job and produced both DVD and photos about half an hour after I had finished the jump.
I had a fantastic day at Hibaldstow airfield. My friend and i undertook this challenge for charity and can honestly it was a fantastic experience and can well recommend it to anyone. The freefall bit was by far the best and did find the parachute down to earth a bit boring until my instructor Kaz did loads of spins and turns, which was another fantastic experience!
I did my first skydive ever today and i was definately not dissapointed. The most amazing feeling to end a great day. I had been saying for so long i wanted to do it now i have fullfilled my dream and it wont be the last time i have the bug. My partner Baldrick was great and the jump was just fantastic. The jump from the plane was amazing to fall through the clouds and freefall was a worthwhile experience and would advise anyone wanting to do it just go for it u wont regret it. Thanks to the great team.
I have just done my first tandem skydive jump and it was the best day of my life so far! I thought I would prefer the freefall but actually found the parachute bit the best as the views are breathtaking, and we got to go through clouds! Jumping out of the plane wasn't as scary as I thought it would be either, which made it all the more enjoyable. I too jumped with Wes and Mike and they were great, all the staff are really nice and friendly and totally put you at ease. Also, I strongly recommend getting the dvd and photos- they're definitely worth it- the quality is amazing and are great reminders of such a brilliant day! You are filmed in freefall, at the start and end so you see everything again! Thanks to everyone and I can't wait to skydive again :D.
I experienced my first tandem skydive on Sunday 25th Jly 2010. It was fairly busy with participants but the whole day was amazing. The staff are extremely friendly and things like the briefing are done professionally but in a relaxed manner. My instructor Wes was great and the cameraman Mike equally cool. Wes managed to keep me reasonably calm by chatting and going over the procedures all the way, right up to the soft landing. The freefall was amazing, the parachute section a wonderfull experience. The whole day will be one to savour for a long long time ! Thanks to everyone at Hibaldstow.
My visit to skydive Hibaldstow was truely exeptional. Before, during and after my skydive all the staff remained to be very polite, helpfull and I think most inportant to me, sensitive to the those who were a little nervous. My instructor and camera man did all that they could to ensure that I enjoyed my experience. I had the time of my life and most certainly will be returning in the near future.
Being a complete novice i didn't know what to expect, I completed my first tandem Skydive Saturday 13th March 2010, jumping to raise money for the Fire fighters Charity, on the whole the entire experience was phenomenal, Dave gave us our briefing and put us all at ease and set the atmosphere well using well placed humour, the only downside to the day was the sitting and waiting but on the whole if you needed to ask anything or sought reassurance they were only too happy to put you at ease, I jumped with Olly, he was brilliant, chatting to me and making sure i was at ease, that made a huge difference, and my cameraman was Blair also really relaxed and easy going which helped with the atmosphere of the day and made the whole experience pass really well, on the whole a top experience, would i do it again, most likely.
I did my first tandem skydive for charity today. All the staff were fab and very friendly. My instructor (Noel) knew I was bricking it (hate hate hate heights) so he was really great and made me feel safe with all the security checks. The guy filming me (Blair) was very funny but scared me by standing on the wing of the plane :-/ and I think my body went into shock so my video is probably going to be rubbish due to me not being able to move. But once the parachute opened it was LOVELY! The views are gorgeous and it was lots of fun. Just the whole getting out of the plane bit I have to work on. I am thinking I want to do it again. And will not freeze with fear so my video can be better next time! All in all, I'd reccomend it, everyone is lovely and you'll have lots of fun.Rachel x.Moreexpand_more
I came here for my first tandem skydive with a university arranged fundraising event: The Great Warwick Jump in 2010. All of the staff were very welcoming and the instructors were really friendly and made you feel reasured and safe in their hands. The filming and photos of the skydive were very good quality. The experence was amazing!
I began skydiving at this center in 2008, and initially intended to only do 1 jump. The fantastically friendly environment (and the skydiving! ) has kept me coming back, and Hibaldstow is now my second home. The instructors and coaches always make time to help, and really challenge you to constantly learn and improve. I've also been very impressed by the attention paid to safety matters. I can't recommend skydiving or this dropzone enough.
