About Simplicity Ceremonies
I am a Funeral Celebrant and a Quaker. I have conducted numerous funeral ceremonies and work with funeral Directors in Somerset, Devon, Bristol and Wiltshire. I am a Fellow of the Faculty of Funeral Celebrants issued under the seal of the Society of Bereavement Practitioners Most funeral ceremonies are either in a church or a crematorium. I have conducted services in many Crematoria and they offer a good service, I am very grateful to have been involved.
Memorial services can also be held in different locations at the choosing of the family. I can assist with this if required. I will conduct secular, spiritual or religious ceremonies as a family wishes.
I have made a personal choice not to request reviews from grieving families.
My inspiration to work as a Funeral Celebrant followed on from my convincement as a Quaker.
All Quakers are equal, this is one of our Testimonies, therefore we do not have a hierarchy and there are no priests or vicars taking services. We hold a Meeting for Worship and gather in silence. Should anyone feel moved to speak, to 'minister, ' then they stand to do so.
Having been a Quaker for over 30 years I felt that funeral celebrancy would be an area in which I had something to offer. I am very grateful to the families and funeral directors for the opportunities I have received.
A funeral ceremony is unique to each family. I offer my service in traditional settings, such as a crematorium, or in a memorial service setting which can be held elsewhere privately. If the service is through a Funeral Director and the setting is in a Crematorium, then you can specify the funeral celebrant that you require. You can also contact me directly for such a service or for a ceremony in another setting.
I do not conduct other celebrancy services, such as weddings or naming ceremonies, I only conduct funeral ceremonies.
In order to conduct the ceremony I would need an hour of your time so that I can learn about your loved one that has passed.
