My fiancée insisted on writing the following based on our experience with Bud…We got engaged whilst on holiday in Rome last September. Jonny didn’t have the ring for the proposal as he wanted me to be involved in choosing it. Whilst we were in Rome we decided to go to Tiffany to have a look at engagement rings and for the “experience”. It was a lovely store and we tried a couple of rings which were undoubtedly beautiful, but there didn’t seem to be that much choice. They gave us a little book about the Tiffany engagement ring and we left, a little bit more informed than when we had arrived. Bud had been recommended to Jonny by a friend, and when we got home we made an appointment to see him. It definitely wasn’t the same as Tiffany (there was no doorman or swanky address for a start) but the experience offered so much more. Bud took the time to explain everything we needed to know when shopping for a diamond. He talked us through the certification process and showed us the unique number etched into the stones. He showed us actual examples of differences in colour and clarity by sitting diamonds side by side, and when we couldn’t see it with the naked eye he showed us under magnification (it was fascinating!). He explained that carat wasn’t just about the size, it was also about the dimensions of the stone. I already knew the cut I wanted but I feel certain that Bud would have taken the time to talk us through all the options available. Once we had chosen the stone, we then needed to find the right setting. Bud has so many different options to choose from, it could have been daunting. However, he made it really enjoyable and demonstrated a lot of patience as I tried on style after style. Once we had narrowed it down, he gave me a couple of samples to take away and wear – there was no pressure to make a decision. The thing that most impressed me about Bud was that he never once tried to up-sell - he just gave us all the information we needed to make the choice that was right for us. The most frustrating thing about the process was once we had made a decision we had to wait a couple of weeks for the ring to be made! It was worth it, though, as the ring is perfect and I will enjoy wearing it for the rest of my life. I’d kept a note of the information on the rings that I’d tried on in Tiffany. The ring that we got from Bud is the same cut but better in carat, clarity and colour than both of the Tiffany options – and it was significantly cheaper. A superb service. Bud was introduced to me by my brother in law, in the quest to find an engagement (wedding) ring for my fiancé. Bud was on holiday when I first contacted him but we quickly managed to arrange a meeting a few days after he’d return. Bud was very knowledgeable, informative and friendly relaxing providing a non-pressuring environment which was catered exactly towards my needs. He was very helpful in explaining the different types of diamonds and types of settings for engagement rings, and the best type of material to choose for the metal. An enjoyable experience which ultimately only required a minimal number of visits, resulting in a stunningly beautiful wedding ring at an excellent price. Highly recommended.

Absolutely brilliant. Unlike a standard jeweller Bud took the time to go through everything there was to know about buying an engagement ring. There was never any pressure to buy, but you could tell that Bud really cared about getting you the best ring and the best diamond possible. I couldn't recommend him more.

I can honestly say Bud is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. His service is personised, unique and second to none. I cannot recommend Si Vis Amari high enough. I came across the website about two months ago having spent HOURS looking for the perfect diamond and ring combination on both James Allen and Blue Nile. Owing to the fantastic reviews, I gave Si Vis Amari a call and spoke to the owner, Bud. Bud immediately filled me with confidence and invited me up to view the stock in his office and explain the buying process. I visited the office in Didsbury and Bud explained the process for over an hour, answering all my intrusive questions. He is not pressurising at all. Bud is very experienced in the diamond trade and is able to source the perfect diamond for your budget and can offer any ring style /setting at an extremely good price. I gave Bud my approximate budget and spec. Within a few days he'd sourced me a STUNNING diamond at an excellent price. Because the diamond was such good value, Bud bought it before my 'go ahead' and gave me first refusal on the diamond which removed any hassle and risk for me. What a fantastic and honest service! As soon as I saw the stone in the flesh I agreed to buy it. Bud then had the diamond set in a Platinum ring one week quicker than he normally is able to, in order to fit in with my tight proposal schedule. It was all completed on schedule. My fiancé absolutely loves the ring. It fits perfectly. On the High Street, the ring would be at least double the price I paid. If you are labouring over the purchase of an engagement ring (or any jewellery), please don't - give Bud a call and let him do the work for you. I will be recommending Bud for years to come. I was after an engagement ring for my now fiancee, and I got put in Bud's direction. From the start Bud was really helpful, put me at ease and went above and beyond in helping choose the perfect engagement ring. I only had 2 and a half weeks to the date I wanted to propose and the ring was ready with a couple of days to spare. My fiancee is absolutely over the moon with her engagement ring. Bud's passion for his job shows in his work and personally I leave this experience of buying an engagement ring with the feeling that he genuinely cared. Honestly - fantastic! We went to Si Vis Amari to find two wedding rings and Bud was brilliant from start to finish. At the meeting he explained different ring designs and materials, and really took his time to make sure we were both happy, particularly for my husband who doesn’t really wear jewellery! Very quick to respond to emails and overall a fantastic service. 5 stars!

Simply put Bud was amazing. He helped me the whole way through the process as I knew nothing about rings. Ended up with a ring my fiancé loved. He worked within my budget and still managed to get a superb diamond. Wouldn't buy a ring off anyone else now so we'll be back for the wedding rings.

You can make no better decision in choosing an engagement ring than making contact with Bud. The rest of the process just flows so easily after that. Following mediocre experiences with the big name jewellers in Manchester city centre the difference when dealing with Bud, and how he treats you, is poles apart. As hard as it may be to imagine, if you've not yet found the perfect ring, but he made the whole process genuinely enjoyable. No pressure, great advice and great communication at all stages. With only 3 weeks to spare before a holiday where I planned to propose the company were excellent and accommodating to arrange a meeting that suited me. Diamond and band samples were sent before the meeting and when we met person in charge took time to fully explain the 4 C's and plenty of other relevant info about diamonds. They were very helpful in terms of guessing ring size and outlining payment. Ring was made and produced with a week to spare before my holiday. Very efficient company with outstanding knowledge of engagement rings with an outstanding product to match. What I really liked was the constant communication that the seller provided. Would highly recommend.

I contacted Bud for help in finding a diamond engagement ring after reading all of the positive reviews on the website. I have certainly not been disappointed. Bud gave me an in-depth introduction to diamonds and helped guide me towards the type of stone that would suit the ring setting I was looking for. Once I had chosen the stone and the ring setting, I decided that I would like to make a small change to the ring setting. Bud told me this was no problem and within a couple of minutes a phone call had been made and my ring setting was able to be customised. I was very well supported throughout the whole process of making an initial decision on the stone and setting to placing an order. I decided to propose in New York and Bud was able to supply me with a narrow ring case that was idea was travel and great for concealing the ring in a pocket. I have no regrets about choosing Bud and I will back again when I need my wedding rings.

There's something about Bud (the owner)! From the moment I met him I knew I wanted to buy my engagement ring from him simply because I liked him and I trusted him. Straightaway he made our moment feel special. None of the sales patter we had received from other jewellers, just a fun and interesting conversation about the world of diamonds. He gave us confidence that we would find the perfect stone and what we ended up with exceed our own hopes and expectations.
