Can't thank Sheena and the boys enough for helping me through this years MOT. They've battled through a number of problems my car brought them and dedicated extra time finding used parts to help me pass in the most cost effective way. They're very professional, kept me constantly updated, and are very sympathetic toward the student population they're surrounded by; they are beyond fair with their prices/labour and even gave me a student discount. They were so reassuring with every phone call. Despite an inevitable hefty bill (my car is very old) I felt a great deal of comfort knowing my car was being taken care of by them. I would have been absolutely fleeced had I taken it to a garage up north! This place is one in a million. Thanks again to Selly Oak Garage. .
Had routine service and MOT. Service was appalling as was promised that car would be available for pick up by midday, rung at midday and was advised will be done by mid afternoon, rung at mid afternoon and advised will be done within the hour. Arrived at the garage at said time and was told that servicing have not been done as staff got confused whether the car has been serviced or not based on their computer system which apparently malfunctioned. Could have rung me instead to clarify but didn’t. Managed to get my car in the end but the team have managed to mess up the car alarm system, meaning that every time I try to use the key to unlock the car manually, the car alarm would sound until either I switch the ignition on or use the transmitter. Throughout the years of owning my car, this has never happened before. Poor service, would not recommend. They have wasted my time and money. I have been using Paul for my vehicle servicing and MOT for a few years now following a high bill from a main agent for a minor job, Paul is a very friendly and knows his business inside out and is a genuine person and it is a pleasure to go and get my car and families also friends repaired or serviced as required, Paul and his staff are friendly and efficient and nothing appears to be too much trouble for them, and I feel that this garage is very good and really trustworthy, and will not try to take advantage of its customers, I would recommend Selly Oak Garage to anyone for good service and reasonable and reliable repairs.
25 cars and 40 years of driving I have never felt in safer and honest hands than using Paul's excellent service Centre, for my MOT, service and repairs. I used to dread the MOT and rip off repairs thanks to some rogue garages but not anymore, because Paul gives a true quote based on materials and labour, not lets see how much I get away with. The service is very professional and thoughtful to the customers needs and time is given to discuss options and just a chat sometimes. I know the quality of his work is 100% because Paul only wants you to return for a future MOT and new mechanical problems, not past ones he has already cured. MOT Booked on line, great price, was done on time while I waited and passed. Always assumed that the discount MOT proces were an excuse to fail it and make money from spurious repairs, but not here. Followed with useful advice. Very happy, will be back and recommending.
I have been taking my car to Paul and the team for a few years now and I cannot fault them. My 8 year old fiesta has recently started showing its age and I definitely wouldn't take it to anyone else. They are honest, reliable and always willing to go that extra mile.
My father and myself have used Paul (the garage owner) and his team to service and repair our cars for many years now. Paul's knowledge of cars is quite astounding and he can usually make an on the spot diagnosis and provide an accurate price estimate before he commences any work. If he does come across further problems as work progresses he always contacts you to keep you informed with regards to any extra costs and time taken etc. I have always found his prices to be highly competitive and they provide a first class, efficient, friendly service, I cannot recommend them too highly and advise all my friends and family to use them too.
I cannot recommend these guys enough. Our car needed a new radiator. We initially took it to the dealership who quoted an eye wateringly high figure for the job and found other (faults) at the same time. Despite the cost, they were going to also charge us for the use of a courtesy car whilst ours was being repaired. We were not prepared to get ripped off and so we called the Selly Oak Service Centre who instantly undercut the dealers quote and made us feel reassured. What's more, the courtesy car was free. Those other (faults) that the dealer unearthed were blown out of proportion and did not require fixing. All the work including a full service was carried out quickly and efficiently and our car has never run so well. I would not hesitate to recommend them for these reasons and because the staff are friendly and professional. A great little business - I've used them for a a couple of years now both for my own as well as my daughter's car. Paul and the gang are frindly as well as sound and trustworthy. As a woman car owner I get massively annoyed by garages who'll try and rip you off just because you're a 'girl'. You definitely won't find that attitude here, and that's what I liked from the first time I used them. I actually switched to them from a mobile mechanic that I used and trusted for over 10 years because as well as being equally trustworthy, Selly Oak Services offer the ability to repair any electronic faults that my 'old school' mechanic wasn't able to deal with.
My daughter is a nursing student at Birmingham University and her car developed a fault with its electrics. My daughter dropped the car off in the morning and Paul and his team quickly diagnosed the problem and sorted it out at a very reasonable charge, much to my daughter's relief. Thank you to Paul and his team for a great service from a relieved parent.
I had some problems with the car and being new to Birmingham, I did not know who to contact. I went to Selly Oak Tyres due to reviews on the Internet. I took the car to the garage at 10am and got the car back 3pm the same day. The problem was solved and the price was very reasonable. I strongly recommend their service to anyone.
I found when i had my car serviced everything was explained properly and the pricing was spot on with no hidden extras. Paul the owner and the other mechanics did a great service and m. T and my car is running great. Can i just say that both paul and the reception staff were really friendly and accomadating as i booked my car in at short notice. I would definately recommend selly oak service to everybody i know. Great job,thanks a lot.
My daughter had a problem with her citreon C2 which had gone to a main dealer to check. After the dealer charged her for work the problem came back. She went to Selly Oak services, where Paul looked at her car and decided it was an earthing fault. (Completly different to the main dealers prognosis, and a lot cheaper) After sorting out the problem, my daughter returned to Aberyswyth University, much happier. Selly Oak were down to earth, plain speaking, and exceptional value for money. Thanks again.
