Ruth Makes Jewellery combines the designs of Ruth Sutcliffe and Jez Coates who are based in the West Yorkshire Pennine hills. Our unique handmade sterling silver jewellery is created from hand sawn recycled silver sheet, sometimes incorporating copper and brass elements, pieces individually cast from our recycled silver or etched pieces. The jewellery has a variety of finishes suited to each design. Some pieces are polished to a rich lustre, others have a brushed or textured finish. We also work with the oxidisation created during the soldering process to create one of a kind atmospheric jewellery and Jez now creates etched pieces. All findings are Sterling Silver, so customers can be assured the jewellery is safe to wear.

We are happy to undertake bespoke commissions, so customers are very welcome to get in touch if they have a specific idea in mind. We will offer ideas and a no obligation quotation and will always be honest if the commission is not for us, but suggest alternative designers.

Our jewellery is presented in recycled matte black gift boxes. When required the jewellery is fully laser hallmarked at the Birmingham Assay Office. Ruth and Jez have individual sponsor marks RS and JC.
