Having been told that my car needed a new card reader. I was told that the mobile locksmith could not come out in the 2 hour slot that we had before the car park that my car was in would be locked. I spoke to him and he advised that he would meet me there at an arranged time the next day. He turned up an hour later than arranged and changed the key not the reader. He then proceeded to tell me that it was the same price and I had to pay cash! I had not been told this previously and do not carry that much cash with me. At this point I felt quite intimidated as he then followed me back home to get the money. He then said I was a liar. If you are a lone female I would not recommend you use this man.RESPONSE: what this man has responded is absolutely not true! I would be very interested to hear this recording as the conversations he said took place I did not have. It was the man from Greenflag who told me £150 for the card reader and he thought less probably about £100 for the key at no point did the Locksmith talk to me about cost or cash. No one mentioned cash until after the job was completed, if I had known I would have taken it. Rude, arrogant and intimidating. BEWARE.Moreexpand_more
Response : All calls in to us are recorded, including this one. The customer was told that the issue was most likely the key card which is £150 to replace at the roadside. There is however a small chance that the reader is defective which would cost £250 to replace. She was also told that due to the remote location of the vehicle that the mobile card machines do not receive sufficient signal to take payment and so she would need to pay cash. The customer advised that she would be available between 09:30 and 11:30 and was advised that we would be there during that time, actual arrival time was 11am.
A new card was coded and the car was running by 11:15. The customer then claimed that she was only told £100 and wanted to pay by card as she hadn't had time to get cash. Our Locksmith offered to go with the customer to a cash machine to get the cash which the customer was happy to do. After making payment the customer claimed that £150 was to much for a key, our Locksmith offered to take the key back and make a full refund which the customer declined. The same offer was made to the customer's husband when he called, along with an offer to listen to the recording which clearly shows exactly what the customer was told. I would suggest that the customer perhaps didn't want to pay the quoted price for the key, which is £100 cheaper than the dealer and 4 days faster.Moreexpand_more
