Richard Parsons Music

Richard is fundamentally a musician who looks to find the right vibe and sounds for the artists he works with. We have recorded a number of times with him and have been really pleased with the results. I would recommend him to any serious musicians wanting to work in the studio and get results that they can be proud of and, more importantly, want to play to others!

I have worked with Rich in a studio and live environment and on every occasion I have been impressed with his professionalism and attention to detail. Rich keeps a tidy studio environment which makes it a joy to record in and his approach to recording really helps you achieve the sound you are after on your track. I can't recommend highly enough for all of your recording/producing needs! Great producer and top musician. What more could you ask for.

I needed someone to record Sir Ranulph Fiennes for a film. Now one would expect this to be done in London or some other easily reached place but nooo, Sir Ranulph suggested Exford in the Exmoor (aka the middle of nowhere). Not too many qualified sound recordists there but a Google search turned up Richard and Rooflight Productions and frankly, I couldn't been better off. Richard embodies the quiet, competent professional, who makes everyone else look good. Recording narration, by the way, is not as easy as it seems, but Richard made it look easy and sound great. Not only that, he also steered me back towards civilization.

I had a great experience working with Rooflight Productions to record and produce my EP. Richard was exceptionally hard working throughout my time there and his knowledge of music and production is excellent. Also his creative inputs into the EP have been the icing on the cake and have really transformed the songs from a simple tune into full sounding, well produced records!

Rooflight Production provided me with a friendly and very professional service. As someone who had virtually no experience of recording before, I was grateful to Richard for putting me at ease and guiding me through the whole process. I was very satisfied with the end product.

I engaged Rooflight Production to record a Thanksgiving service in a country church complete with organ music, singing, readings and blowing of noses. Richard Parsons was sympathetic, punctual, efficient and the quality of the recording is, yes, exceptional. I will definitely use Rooflight Production again.

I'm a professional vocalist, so this wasnt't the first time I'd been in a recording Studio, but it was my first time with this particular company, and I have to say, the quality of the final tracks Richard produced were brilliant. Far more professional than a certain competitor in the same area. Richard also made me feel really relaxed and comfortable before we even began recording, which is really important, especially for those who may not have recorded in a studio before. I was also impressed with how Richard listened to everything I wanted during the editing of the tracks (even though I was being reeeeally picky! ) and his attention to detail. He also worked very efficiently and quickly - not wasting any time. Will definitely be recommending, and most likely to be returning in the future!

I wanted to record a song as a surprise from my now husband to be played at our wedding for the first dance a couple of weeks ago. I sent several emails to recording studios in Bristol, but the responses weren't particularly helpful and didn't seem to understand my specific requirements regarding the limitations of my voice! However, I then got a reply from Richard at Rooflight Production and I immediately knew that I'd found the right place. Richard is very easy to warm to and his response was kind, encouraging and enthusiastic. He understood that I had never sung anywhere other than in the shower and car before and was happy to work the way that suited me and my voice. The end was result was so much better than I anticipated and I am over the moon with it. I hadn't told anyone I what I was doing in case it was a disaster, but it was far from it so I needn't have worried. For me, what makes Rooflight Production special is Richard and his ability to make people feel comfortable and confident. After previously working at studios around London, I had been keen to find a quality studio around my home city Bristol for some time - unfortunately with poor results. I came across Rooflight Studios completely by chance and after speaking with Rich, who I took to right away, decided to take a chance and record my EP at the studio along with my friend Lewis Creavan. I spent 2 days recording at the studio, along with a few visits during the mastering, and my whole time there has been by FAR the best experience at a studio I have ever had. From day 1 Rich saw my vision, listened and put his all in to creating my EP. His creativity was incredible and his attention to detail was outstanding. Rich is a true professional who loves his artistry - but he is also a very genuine, honest and friendly person which made him extremely easy to get along with not only on a professional level but on a personal level too. I am looking forward to working with Rich again in the near future and I have recommended him to all the musicians I work with. Rich has given me faith back in studio working, and there is no doubt in my mind that I will continue to record with him. .

We all really enjoyed working with Richard during the recording day thanks to his friendly yet professional service, offered at a very reasonable price. Mixes are of a very high quality and we are extremely satisfied with the end product.

I've now worked with Rich for two years, doing first an EP and then a full length album. His work ethic shines through in the results, and not only does he enjoy working with you, he's a very pleasant man to work with. Would recommend him for anyone.

Working with Richard from Rooflight was an enjoyable experience. The three tracks I took to him needed a lot of work done in a short amount of time. I couldn't of asked for a better result! I felt very welcomed and was able to express my true opinions throughout the process. Richard's attitude and work ethic were utilized with the upmost professionalism.

Recording an EP with Rooflight has been a pleasant experience from the very beginning - Richard was very flexible on dates, times, songs and arrangements. On the day he was very welcoming and created a very comfortable environment to work in. Richard from Rooflight Productions provided an outstanding service for our band. We needed to record our new single earlier this year which is when our manager introduced us to Richard. We only had one day to record all the tracks for our single, but Richard was extremely patient and pleasant to work with. Not only did he take the time to get the perfect sound for all of our instruments, but he also made suggestions on the production and editing of the song which helped massively. At the end of the day whether you are an acoustic artist or a band looking to record, Rooflight will deliver a professional industry standard recording session. The best part is that Richard is one of the easiest and kindest people to work with, which made our session great fun, and we walked away with exactly what we wanted.
