About Rhodes 2 Safety

The Rhodes 2 Safety group is a first aid training provider, based in the beautiful village of Elloughton, East Yorkshire, UK.

Established in 2001, Rhodes 2 Safety offers a full range of first aid training services, ranging from small local projects to major national work, and everything in between but specialises in CANINE FIRST AID training, for which we were crowned the UK's Best Canine First Aid Training Company in both the 2017 and 2018 Business Excellence Awards. We also won the Global Business Excellence Award for UK's Most Outstanding Training Provider in 2017 and aim to secure that title for a second time later in 2018 too.

It's widely accepted that having fun during training provides an anchor for the retention of information. Rhodes 2 Safety courses are lively, entertaining and, more importantly, incredibly successful at getting important safety information across.

Rhodes 2 Safety provides excellent, competitively priced training on all HSE approved courses, techniques, and practical skills with the jewel in our crown being our canine first aid course.

Helping clients to expand knowledge and confidence during any of the 1, 2 or 3 day courses, the organisation supplies all customers with a professional first aid training service which is certain to keep everybody enthused. First aid isn't just about the theoretical know-how, its also about the physical hands-on skill, that results in a competent, safe and efficient first aider.

With HSE-approved courses and experienced, fun and lively staff, the service is designed to keep the boss happy, by meeting health and safety regulations and to keep the staff happy by providing a fantastic day's training.

The company delivers first class CANINE FIRST AID TRAINING, as well as bespoke FAW (first aid at work) 3 day courses, FAW refresher 2 day courses, EFAW (emergency first aid at work) 1 day courses, paediatric 2 day courses that are fully compatible with HSE, Ofsted and Early Years requirements and can be tailor-made to fit any company. The products feature HSE accreditation and certification, appropriate for a wide range of business sectors, and available for delivery on site at client's premises, should this option be required.

Rhodes 2 Safety has a steady network of clients, situated throughout the entire UK, including not just individual members of the public but also several Further Education establishments such as Bishop Burton College, Goole College, Hull College, HETA, Pedigree Chum, the RSPCA, Jerry Green Rescue, Malta Police Dog Section, and many breed clubs, agility clubs, flyball clubs etc etc.

The company is owned and managed by Kerry Rhodes, who has been working in the first aid training sector for many years. Having previously worked for the NHS at both Princess Royal and Castle Hill hospitals, Kerry returned to university and added teaching to the skill-set, and is more than qualified to look after the company and ensure a professional service for all clients.

With a staff body of experienced employees, Rhodes 2 Safety has achieved top awards in all fields of service provision. The staff chosen to work for Rhodes 2 Safety are highly skilled in everything from Postgraduate Teaching, Advanced Canine First Aid, First Aid at Work, Paediatric First Aid and all manner of computer based skills which meld together to ensure a professional, seamless service every step of the way. On top of the skills offered "on paper" a high value is also placed on the ability of instructors to interact on a friendly, fun basis with students. There are many companies with highly qualified staff on their books, but not so many that can entertain and hold the focus of an entire class with such impressive results. With Rhodes 2 Safety, the instructors do not engage in "Death by Powerpoint". Each instructor delivers their subject in a unique and individual way, which is never dry and will certainly ensure that the important information sticks.

There is a reason we are Number 1 in the 2017 Business Excellence Awards.

Diatomaceous earth - how long would it take to kill these mites, how often should I sprinkle on my dog pls.
Response : It is inert and safe to both humans and animals. Diatomaceous Earth powder works as the mites crawl through the dust to feed on the hens at night. The microscopically sharp shards that make up Diatomaceous Earth scratch the mite's waxy shell without which they cannot retain water and so dehydrate and die. It can take anywhere from 24 hours to a week so best to administer the DE and check after a couple of days to see how the infestation has responded and treat again as necessary.

I was a little concerned the online course wouldn't be as good as in-person but I was wrong. So informative, great content which not only covered the basics but gave really good practical tips. Kerrys knowledge and delivery was excellent and I cant recommend her or the course highly enough. Five stars!
Response : Im so pleased you enjoyed it Dawn. I understand completely the apprehension that it may not have been as good but, apart from not getting the full snoggy ridgeback licks in person, everything else should have translated pretty well. It was my pleasure and if you need anything in the future or further information, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

This is my second pet first aid course, but the first with Kerry! I can definitely say this one was far better, so much information given and in alot of detail, we were also asked questions which gets the brain working which I loved! Will definitely be using kerry again in the future, I can't recommend her enough!
Response : Wahoo! Well, my work here is done lol . Seriously though Lucy, I was very pleased to hear that the information had been delivered in a way you enjoyed so much and certainly hope that doing it this way will help you remember all the important bits that you need. As ever, any further clarification or questions, please do get in touch. .

The best canine first aid I’d ever done quite a few years previously. I’ve done others since but they weren’t a patch on this course. I asked Kerry to come back to Portsmouth to deliver another session and myself and all of the other participants really enjoyed it. Kerry brings humour and knowledge, and, a canine helper to make this entertaining and informative. Can’t recommend her enough.

Thanks for a super informative and friendly course. Everything you could need to know and more covered and a really lovely learning experience helped by the live ridgeback model RainBob. Thanks to Kerry for providing such an excellent course and offering ongoing support with anything first aid related. The pop up shop with all you could require for your first aid kit is a great bonus too! Will definitely recommend!
Response : Thanks Anna. Im so pleased it ticked all the boxes for you . And RainBob was more than happy to accept copious ear scratches! Lovely afternoon with smashing people.

Great session. It was my second time with them. The course is easy to follow and fun. Very informal too and easy to understand. My only dislike on this occasion at the Howden one I attended on Sunday was we were freezing and sat in a doggy play barn venue. Was only told about this after booking. Thanks. Would recommend and use again in the future ? .
Response : Hi Amy, I have to agree with you. The session was provided for a third party and as such I too was only told about the venue a couple of days before and it was SO COLD! Im so sorry about that . It is something that I will be checking for any future sessions we run as learning when you are uncomfortable is not the best, and the very reason I usually select the venues personally. Once again, my sincere apologies for that.

What a great first aid course this is. Very informative and helpful whether you own a dog or walk/board dogs. Lots of really useful information and a hands on approach with a real dog which makes a huge difference too. An added bonus is that I could replenish my first aid kit with some extra stuff and make sure I'm ready for every eventually if needed. Thank you for putting on this great course Rhodes 2 Safety!
