I was approached by their singing salesman, who was only asking unrelated questions about my surname and his former coworkers. I have asked if they also do gutters, and he said yes, and the quote they gave me will be valid for 18 months. We made an appointment for the salesman to come on the 27th October 2027, 1 pm. On Friday, the 24th, I called their office to ask that they stick to the job during any future visit, as I am not interested in talking about anything else. On the day of the appointment, the bald, tall, thin, 50+ salesman arrived 15 min. Earlier, and his first question was where I am from. I repeated the requirement to talk only about their offer and gave him slippers. He stepped over them and wanted to put in his shoes. He was bewildered when I told him to leave the shoes in the hall and wear the guest's slippers. I informed him upfront that I do not need a coating, only gutters. Thus, we went to the back of the house to show him the gutters requiring investment. He called two men from the company to obtain more information and quoted the price of £1,500 for the replacement of 2 gutters and two 6m downpipes. Then we came back to the room and he called somebody again, who was very vague and dissatisfied on the phone (I could hear that), and I did not go for the larger offer. After this phone call, the price suddenly changed, and the bald man quoted £2,200. He also changed the quotation duration, and now it has become 12 months. When I pointed out this discrepancy, he said that I should trust them, because (here came a litany of how good and trustworthy the company is), I cut it short, saying that I don't trust men, would prefer women to come as traders, and that it is visible they are dishonest. After that, this man suddenly changed and showed his real, black hatred. He said, "You are single, aren't you?" - ogling my office as if he was searching for what to steal. I showed him the door and he came straight to my face to point a finger at it, "I've never met somebody with more assholic attitude", and that I am a disaster or something.
