We are extremely pleased with the results of our two re-roofing projects. The work was carried out in a very professional manner, in an excellent time-scale (as previously agreed). The quality of all the work including new timbers, insulation, plaster-boarding, artexing and coving is first class. The over-felting (3 layer) is also of an excellent quality. The projects were well managed with a minimum of mess and inconvenience and were completed on time and to price. Your work Roger is excellent and we would have no hesitation in using you again and recommending you to others.

Roger fitted a new Kitchen for me. It was a framed B&Q Kitchen and Rogers obvious skill as a time served carpenter, has left me with a kitchen which looks more expensive than it actually was. The measurements were taken incorrectly by B&Q, but Roger worked around this error, and the finish is much better than I expected. I would recommend Rogers work to anyone with absolute confidence. He always came to site early and when he said he would, and always left site clean and tidy each day. The job took longer than he originally expected, but he continued until the kitchen was fully finished. I am very pleased with all aspects of Roger's work.

Roger Jakes is a very trustworthy local builder. He was recommended by our next-door neighbour to build an extension for us so that we could have a bigger kitchen and dining room at the back of the house. We were impressed with the quality of his work. For example, when he installed the cooker hood in our kitchen, we told him where to locate the hood. Unfortunately, we forgot the height of the tiles so it ended up with a 3cm gap between the bottom of the hood and the top of the kitchen tiles. We didn’t think it looked good but thought it would be too much hassle to re-fit the hood. Roger, however, insisted on re-fitting the hood, as it was not perfect. So he did it, which demonstrates his working attitude. In another case, while we fitted the radiators before, the previous workman fitted the pipes around the wall as the guy said the floor was concrete so the pipes couldn’t be hidden. When Roger laid the heating pipes for us, he dug out channels in the concrete floor for new pipework without us asking him as we didn’t think it was possible. Therefore, in addition to building the extension for us, we asked him to: refurbish and decorate the sitting area, the landing, the bathroom and to build a steel support T-junction in the garage to provide space for us to park our car. We have also asked him to replace the roof in our porchway this coming year.Roger always applies his craftsmanship to a very high standard. We have no hesitation to recommend Roger to anyone who wants the job finished to a sensational standard at a reasonable price.Moreexpand_more
