Lucy and Yam's holistic approach to instrumental tutoring and music in general will leave you thinking back fondly years after you've had the privilege of studying with them. They will ignite or re-ignite a passion for music and the instrument you are exploring, which in my opinion is what it's all about. Their passion for music is infectious. Lucy and Yam are highly professional and reliable musicians/tutors and I can't recommend them enough. I've had the privilege of playing with them many times and it's always a pleasure.

Lucy and Yam have been colleagues of mine for many years. As the founder of Spring Music, a charity that brings music to rural, disadvantaged children in China, we developed an online tutoring system. Both Lucy and Yam were there at the start helping to tutor the children online. I had feedback from all of the children and their parents stating that despite the considerable language barrier, Lucy and Yam’s lessons were always enjoyable, thoroughly planned and taught with specific, challenging but achievable aims in mind. Their professionalism and kindness is clear and is appreciated by all who work and learn with them. Several of the children they tutored went on to gain places at music high schools in China. I highly recommend both of these fine tutors and musicians to anyone looking for a supportive, high level and fun learning experience.

Lucy is an excellent and dedicated clarinet teacher who's both professional and personable. She teaches with enthusiasm, clarity, and a touch of humor. My son has made significant progress since beginning lessons with Lucy a year and a half ago and continues to enjoy playing and is motivated to practice. Lucy Thomas was my daughter's clarinet teacher for 6 years. During this time, we found her to be a very able and talented teacher. She quickly built rapport with the students and was able to adapt her teaching style to suit each student's needs. She is very caring and supportive. My experience with Purrfect Music was nothing but positive. I had in person, one-on-one clarinet tuitions with Lucy Thomas between 2010 and 2016. In that time, I progressed from being unable to read musical notes, to completing 5 ABRSM grades. Not only is Lucy an incredibly talented and accomplished musician herself, she is also a caring, nurturing and supportive teacher, who encourages each student to become the best version of themselves, inside and outside the classroom. Lessons with Lucy were always something I look forward to as she always encouraged me to give it my best efforts, no matter the outcome. Having now completed my musical education, I look back on my lessons with Lucy very fondly, and I believe every musical student could benefit under the tutelage of a teacher like her.
