About PRB Music
Established in 1972, PRB Music has many years' experience in the music profession, with the focus on providing high-quality piano teaching to students, young, and old, mainly in the Plymouth area.
Philip R Buttall is extremely well-qualified : BMus (Hons) GRSM FMusTCL FTCL FVCM (Hons) FNCM LRAM ARCM LGSM LTCL (GMT) ARSM ALCM (Jazz) PGCE PMEPTA FRSA He teaches from Initial grade to Diploma level (Classical and Jazz) and enters students for ABRSM and Trinity College exams. He is a member of EPTA.
He is an accredited Piano Teacher at the University of Plymouth, where he teaches students as part if their Undergraduate course, in Years, 1, 2, and 3. He is the accredited Piano Teacher for the BA Hons Music Junior Academy run by the University of Plymouth.
Philip was the Classical Music Writer and Critic for the Plymouth Herald newspaper, for over twenty years, before the newspaper stopped covering classical music.
PRB Music provides expert and friendly individual tuition at the highest level.
PRB Music delivers a unique teaching experience, combining a friendly, flexible, yet totally professional service. Lessons can be tailored to individual requirements, and are appropriate for students of all ages and abilities.
All lessons are given on a Steinway grand piano in a teaching studio.
PRB Music has a satisfied group of customers, situated in and around Plymouth, and include children and adults from 6 to 80. Philip has had well over 300 exam successes.
PRB Music aims to provide professional tuition on the best of instruments in an ideal location. Each student is encouraged to achieve his or her own potential, whether learning for enjoyment, specifically to pass exams, or to pursue a career in the music profession. All associated events and facilities (theory qualifications, exam entries) are taught or provided, in a service which aims to give excellent value for money every time.
PRB Music is managed by Philip R Buttall who has been in the music profession for many years as teacher, performer, composer, and music writer and critic. He also holds a Diploma in Professional Freelance Journalism from the British College of Journalism.
