Can’t believe this place is still open. Absolutely filthy- towels have not been washed since I started going there again just after it reopened. Is so dirty it actually stinks out the whole bottom floor. The owners cannot do the dances they teach, and are so passive aggressive and rude in tone. I have counted over 30 class cancellations since April (it is now July). When you ask them about this they come up with a lie, when the reality is they can make more money from renting out to hen parties so will cancel your cheaper classes last minute. Sometimes you will get to the studio and the poles won’t be up, or the speakers won’t work, or it’s filthy (well, it’s always filthy). You’re more than welcome to use all the expired beauty products in the bathroom though! “ for several months members had no problem with booking studio hires and classes running as scheduled. We can only apologise for the previous two weeks, the increase in bookings meant a lot of pressure on our small two man operation” this has been happening for way longer than two weeks- this has been months and months and I’ve heard from other members this is common. Also, since my review I’m aware there has been a GDPR breach of private information too which is another reason membership has gone down. I’m aware you’re a two person operation by the fact nearly all communication is WhatsApp voice clips whilst eating dinner or running errands, but you do hire a lot of teachers. Also the expired beauty products- I wasn’t talking about the sanitary products (a lot of which I actually put in there myself as I had too many), I mean old expired perfume, expired roll on deodorant, open baby wipes etc. You may have 5 star reviews on here but this isn’t the case on other websites, and some reviews even say ‘5 stars because I own this business’? You also offer a cash/credit incentive for reviews, so naturally there’ll be more positive ones, but at this rate I don’t believe that’ll be the case for long.Moreexpand_more
My journey into the world of pole dancing was through a very good and extremely persuasive friend who saw a Groupon offer and thought it would be fun and a brilliant way to get fit and learn something new. It was with some trepidation that we arrived at our first lesson. Whilst the first lesson was really enjoyable I suffered for the next couple of days as my arms ached so much I could hardly lift them. However we preserved and came back for the second and subsequent weeks. As the weeks passed my aches and pains largely passed and we learnt so much the frog princess, the sun wheel, the chair to name but a few. Each week I could feel my muscles getting used to supporting my weight and my confidence grew. Then came the "upside down" week and this is an area I've really struggled with. All the instructors were really helpful and patient with me and eventually I cracked it and literally turned my world upside down. While I'm still not as good as some of the girls on my course the other girls have been very supportive and really encouraging. We've had a lot of fun in class and have occasionally dissolved into laughter when one of us has ended up in a heap on the floor unable to move due to the amount we are laughing at our mishap. It's been just over a year since I started on this adventure and I have almost completed level 8, I can't believe I've got this far. I'm so glad that I kept going as I've learned a lot about my abilities and I've surprised quite a few friends and colleagues who initially had no idea that at the age of 43 I'd taken up pole dancing. Would recommend this as a method to get fit? Yes I would it's an excellent way to improve your all round fitness. I've discovered muscle groups I didn't know I had and that's quite impressive as I've been a member of the gym on and off for years. I have thoroughly enjoyed learning to pole dance and would certainly recommend pole dancing as its s really good experience regardless of how easy or hard you find the different moves.Moreexpand_more
I hired the upstairs studios for my son's first birthday party a few weeks ago. I thought it might be a bit odd having a child's birthday party at a pole dancing venue but I couldn't have been more wrong. The staff were excellent - professional, accommodating and very helpful. As the studio wasn't booked at any other time, they kindly let us in early to decorate which was great. We were able to bring our own food and drink which saved us a fortune! There was plenty of room and access to the kitchen to make hot drinks. I would happily use this venue again.
Because of my work and where I live I can't commit to courses and so the options for drop-in classes and studio hire at Pole Twisters are ideal. The staff are always approachable but professional, the teaching is of a high standard and the studios in Cardiff are great - I can finally work on my fitness whilst enjoying myself! Pole Twisters are quick to respond to any queries you may have so don't hesitate to contact them.
I absolutely love pole twisters! I've been doing classes for a good few weeks and I'm doing things I never thought I would be able to do! The strength I've gained is amazing! It's given my confidence a huge boost and I've made new friend! My teacher Lisa is a brilliant teacher she explaines very move so clearly that by the end of the lesson we can do them all! It's a fun and addictive way of keeping fit highly recommend it.
If you want a fun and enjoyable way to exercise then this is the place to go. I've been going for over a year and I'm still hooked :) there's so much going on, from beginner classes to advance tricks, stretch and flexibility, pole strengthening there's something for everyone :) staff and students are so helpful and friendly, you'll just wanna keep going back.
I have been hooked on these classes since I tried a taster lesson in 2010 and I have now just started Stage 5! Each move is clearly explained and demonstrated and everyone is very friendly and supportive of each other. As well as toning and fitness, pole dancing gives you confidence and is the best fun I have ever had while exercising!
I've progressed to stage 4 with Pole Twisters. Its an excellent way to keep fit, improve your confidence and enhance your social life. The teachers and the other girls are all very supportive, helpful and we have fantastic nights out! I especially enjoyed participating in the live event last month.
I have progressed to stage three and I'm about to go onto another course with pole twisters, I have also attended drop in sessions and other classes they offer and have found them all to be excellent and a lot of fun to attend. The tutors offer a friendly but still professional and I would recommend them to anyone.
I have progressed to stage five with Pole Twisters and have thoroughly enjoyed the courses. The level of moves is challenging and varied. The teachers are friendly and welcoming. They make you feel confident to progress and try moves that can appear very difficult at first. Instructions and directions are clear and re-capped continuously. The members of the class are also very supportive and everyone attempts to help each other. An excellent way to get fit and have fun.
I've attended two stages of pole dancing with pole twisters and will be carrying on to my third and have also attended and participated in an event which they hosted and I would recommend it to anyone, its fun if you don't like boring exercise and you can see differences in your confidence, strength and flexibility and the teachers are lovely, they encourage and help you with moves and make sure you have fun in the process! Great fun for parties or weekly fitness, everyone should try it! You also get to meet new people and learn other types of dance if you want to try something different. Rhiannon.
