David shared his extensive knowledge and friendly, helpful advice throughout the whole design process, acting on our behalf to achieve planning permission for a single storey side extension, which is currently being built.

David was recommended by one of the builders quoting to build an extension and carry out some internal alterations on my bungalow. David was approached and asked too produce plans for the work I planned to have done, which he did in a professional and timely manner. The plans produced were exactly what I required and met all planning regulation requirements. This was the first time I have submitted a planning application so Davids knowledge of and experience of how the system worked made the whole experience so much easier, he kept in touch with me at every stage of the process and dealt with any queries of which there were none. David provided a highly knowledgeable and personable service. We approached him at a very early stage of our deliberations to extend and reshape our house. While we did not pursue his designs then, we feel foolish not to have. He came up with the precise designs that we subsequently implemented after another year of thinking and bringing in another two architects in the process. For further work, we will not make the same mistake, but follow David's designs without hesitation. In fact, we are just about to.

We appreciated the personal service and felt that we could readily access Mr Halliwell with any queries we had, no matter how small. Appointments and time scales were kept to. The service we received was prompt. Communication was good. The quality of the plans was very good. We would not hesitate to use Plans-to-Build again and would recommend Mr Halliwell.

David took us through every stage of both the planning application and the building control application and was very flexible, listening to our thoughts and ideas throughout the whole process. David kept us in touch at every stage of both applications and sorted all queries out for us. We were very pleased with the quality of his work and his excellent communication.

David drew up plans for our part single part two storey extension. He was personable and timely from day 1 providing an excellent service. We recently completed an extension to our property which was to enlarge our kitchen. We were completely "green" about the whole process and wanted to be advised about the possibilities, planning requirements and rough costs before we approached builders. Great Value and a really good job, made it all really easy, dealt with the planners for me (i was a bit worried about that) and all work was approved in no time. Also helped me think carefully about the long term and build that into the plans to avoid any additional future costs. Would happily recommend.

This is the first time I've ever had plans drawn up. I found Plans-to-build very helpful as they took charge of everything and talked me through what I needed to do. This made things a lot less stressful. They were punctual and promptly returned my calls. And I felt remained interested in the outcome.

We discovered David via the Internet (so no personal recommendations) and found him to be both courteous and personable. He took control of all the "boring" bits (dealing with the regulations and the council, etc. ) and really took the heat out of the situation for us. Importantly, we got Approval for our extension without any hassle and his advice regarding neighbours was both taken and successful. I can highly recommend David.

We were recommended to use David Halliwell and were encouraged to use David as he was local to the Ainsdale area. We found his work impeccable, his manner positive and not in anyway condescending (as the expert). David went out of his way to come to the house to explain personally and kept us up to date at every stage of the preparation of plans and the subsequent submission to Sefton Council. David offered to liaise with our Structure Engineer and continues to work with him for final permission from Sefton Council. Whilst working together with David we have had all the "jargon" and plans explained in layman terms and we feel David has listened to and then advised when we required amends to original plans/ideas. After the experience many friends and family have had with Architects and Engineers David was a breath of fresh air and we would not hesitate to recommend him to others.

We are building a single story extension to the rear of our property but needed help and guidance in the best way to go about this.
