Found Oliver on line and took a faded forty year old photo and came away with it looking as new. The cost was very reasonable and Oliver kept me informed as to the progress. Also had over two hundred pictures scanned at a very very reasonable cost. Extremely pleased with the service and would not hesitate to recommend Photo Aid.
Searched on line for a company that would be able to hopefully play and transfer a tape recoding onto a stick from a Dictaphone of my husbands late brother. Found and called Oliver at Photo First Aid. Oliver was amazing, his customer service is brilliant and kept me updated on his progress with my tape and when I would be receiving the finished item through the post. Fortunately Oliver was able to work his magic, and now my husband has been able to hear his late brothers voice for the first time in over 34years, which was emotional, and all thanks to Oliver and his skills. I certainly would not hesitate to call and use Oliver at Photo First Aid again, Thrilled with the result, he has become like a friend. .
I brought an old family photography to Oliver and Jenny in the hopes that a restored copy could be made. From the very first moment, Oliver was kind, helpful and welcoming, understanding of my needs and patient with my lack of knowledge of the field. Throughout the restoration process he kept in touch, and provided a very thorough breakdown of the work they intended to do as well as the reasons for it. Finally, on the day I was due to pick up the work there was an issue with the bank transfer and Oliver got in touch before I arrived so I could resolve the matter before I arrived. Oliver and Jenny are consummate professionals in their work. The copy looks as though it was photographed a week ago, and not over forty years since. I cannot recommend Oliver and Jenny highly enough.
Having found an old family photograph circa 1903 which had key areas of detail missing, I was keen for it to be restored to pass on to future generations. Oliver and Jenny, not only looked after the original, but painstakingly restored the photograph to its original glory including intricate lace detail on the dress of my sons’ great-grandmother and the coat detail of their great-great grandfather. Oliver sent regular emails regarding the process and an excellent breakdown of costs for the work required. There was never any sales pressure and I could have opted for a partial restoration only. The end result could only have been achieved through real dedication and attention to detail, and we as a family, were truly moved by the final result. You could not entrust your most precious of memories to a more professional and caring team.
I have ised the services of Oliver and Photo First Aid on two occasions. The first time was to help restore a photo that was over 70 years old, as a gift for my Auntie after my mum's passing. The results were phenomenal. The 2nd time was a recent photograph I had taken on my phone. Again, Oliver enlarged the photo without it losing any integrity or personality. I will, no doubt be utilising Oliver again in the future.
Being a keen amateur photographer, and having found nostalgic 35mm negatives from the 70’s I was apprehensive about the quality of the prints that could be produced. Oliver did a superb job restoring the negatives and the final prints are superior to any high street service.
This lovely couple managed to bring back to life a photo from 1989, that had become very muddy looking. It was very precious to me as both the people in it are now gone, and despite the fact that they were dealing with a house move, renovation and running a business, they still managed to keep me up to date with progress(late night emails became the norm as they are busy all day! ) sending me details of work done, various different styles of orientation etc, and examples of what the finished picture would look like. When I saw the finished work, it made me want to cry, they had brought back to life two people I miss every day, the colours, the brightness, and their faces were so hugely improved, it was hard to believe it was the same picture. It really took me back 33yrs to a day out at Brock Bottoms, Happy Days! The standard of work and the care taken was outstanding. I would give 6 stars if it was possible. I'll be going through my photo collection looking for more " patients" for them.
My cherished photograph taken of my mum in 1946 was yellowed and stained due to it's age but it also had biro drawn on to the face as well. I thought it would never be restored to it's former glory…. How wrong I was! The restoration was first class. I was amazed to see the attention to detail that went into the process of restoring the photograph. Oliver and Jenny are true professionals who take great pride in their work. I would be very happy to recommend anyone to use Phot First Aid. I would certainly use them again.
Excellent photo reconstruction, a very old, sun damaged photo was brought back to life. I dropped the photo off during the Covid outbreak and unfortunately it took quite a long time to get the finished product back, not really a problem as I wasn't in any rush. The main thing was the finished article which is great. Very pleasant and personal service.
I would highly recommend Photo First Aid for their excellent service. The process was clearly explained, appointments easy to arrange and reasonably priced. Oliver successfully restored DVD content and transferred camcorder footage to a pen drive, hours of happy memories of children and grandchildren to enjoy. Thank you.
Such a lovely couple that do such lovely work! I only have a 10 second clip of me and my late grandma on tape and they managed to restore as much as possible into a photo I can keep forever. Amazing communication throughout the whole process and amazing value for money! Would recommend to anyone.
Delighted to write a review of Photo First Aid. Precious cam-corder tapes of our children were transferred on to a pen drive and we have been viewing results with great pleasure. These children are now in their thirties! And it was many years since we had seen the film of them as babies and little ones. The service we received was first rate. Everything was clearly explained and there was a menu of options. Progress checks during the work allowed us to select exactly what we wanted and we knew what was involved and what sort of cost to expect. Communication and all arrangements were good throughout, even in difficult times. Highly recommended.
Old coloured faded picture stuck to the glass on the frame. Photo first aid were unable to restore the quality of the photo in colour but managed to do an incredible job restoring the photo to enhanced black and white. Really pleased with the results. I will definitely use the service for any future restoration work. Communications were prompt. Great customer service.
A relative recommended PFA to me having had good results from them. I had an old family album with several dozen photos going back over a hundred years. Some of these were badly foxed and faded. Oliver and his team have taken a lot of trouble with the restoration and offered helpful advice to achieve a brilliant result. I can wholeheartedly recommend them.
We had black and white photograph of our wedding that we didn't know existed until we were given it from my wife's sister. It initially in the photographer's shop window and as we were away we hadn't seen it. Her sister had kept it in her attic and forgotten about it. It was cracked in several places, faded and severely marked. As it was our golden wedding we decided to see if it could be repaired and if possible coloured. We found Photo first aid on the web and took it to them. We were truly amazed at the difference, the colours were faithfully rendered even down to the colour of my wife's lipstick, the flowers were exactly as the wife remembered them. I cannot thank Oliver and his partner enough and would reccomend his services to anyone,.
We had lots of tapes from our camcorder transferred onto a pen drive by Oliver. The process was clearly explained and appointments were easy to arrange. The whole procedure was sorted out promptly and Oliver was extremely helpful and personable. We have used this service before and would be very happy to recommend.
