Mr Wentworth has been an outstanding teacher to myself and my brother. He has taught us Piano ever since we were 5 years old, and because of him we have both been able to achieve our Grade 8s on our first attempts. His patience and humour elevates the lessons, creating an enjoyable learning experience.
Phil has been teaching my son classic guitar for the last few years and has enabled him to pass his exams, currently to grade 5. He teaches in a relaxed format but is very knowledgeable and has enabled my son to take his exams knowing he was fully prepared. If you are looking for a good structured lesson with a reliable teacher then you will not go wrong with Phil.
Phil has been my piano teacher for the last couple of years and during this time he has impressed me with his competence, patience and kindness to this mature student. He’s been very encouraging and has gone a long way to building my confidence which was much needed when these lessons first began. I would have no hesitation in recommending him.
Mr Wentworth (as we call him) has been teaching my 11yr old daughter to play the guitar for only a relatively short period, but her progress is amazing considering she has never done anything musical before. He is a fun, patient & knowledgeable teacher and keeps lessons interesting by teaching a wide variety of music styles. My daughter is quite shy but Mr Wentworth has brought out the best in her and they have a good rapport, trading ideas (& jokes ! ) & making lessons fun. He now feels like a member of the family and I would highly recommend him to anyone who is thinking of learning an instrument. As my daughter would say 'Mr Wentworth rocks! '.
Phil has been teaching my 14 year old son guitar for the last 18 months. Lewis is now confidently playing all sorts of music and has enjoyed his lessons with Phil. Phil is a very competent teacher who makes the lessons fun and he will teach many different styles of music to keep the learner interested including transcribing favourite tracks to play. I would recommend Phil to anyone wanting to learn to play the guitar.
Phil has been teaching our 13 year old daughter classical guitar for only a few months now. The improvement we have seen, and heard, is unbelievable. He is a fantastic bloke, and put her at ease on the first lesson - a bonus from the start. He is very patient, and has an excellent sense of humour. We highly recommend Phil if you are looking for a music teacher. Andy and Liz, Newnham.
Phil has been teaching guitar to my 15 year daughter for just over a year. He is friendly, patient and encouraging. Phil teaches a wide variety of music from classical to rock and pop for exams or just for fun. He will even transcribe a favourite piece of music so you can play it at the level you are working at. My daughter is already playing grade 3 pieces with Phil's tuition and is still very enthusiastic about playing guitar.
Phil has been teaching my daughter who is 6 years old for a month now and her progress has been fast, Phil and my daughter have already formed a good working relationship, and he is very patient with her. She is allowed to choose which songs she would like to learn and the catalogue is vast from church hymms to the national anthem and the starwars theme tune. I would recommend Phil highly for quality of teaching and value for money, i don't know of many teachers who would travel to your home either, which puts my daughter in a comfortable environment to learn.
Phil has enabled my daughter Cherie to reach Grade 3 after just 4 1/2 years. She is on target for Grade 4 this year. His teaching is of a very high standard and combined with a fun tone keeps Cherie interested to advance to a higher level.
Phil teaches both keyboard and electric guitar to my children. He is very accomadating on times and dates, giving lessons during school holidays if asked and even walking in the snow to get to us! He has hand written (large print) music for my visually impaired son and we always get plenty of his time for the cost of the lessons.
Phil Wentworth has been both a piano and guitar teacher for my son for the last eight years. He has also taught me piano duets for that time. I am extremely grateful for the expertise and fun he has put into his lessons and his ability to coax and nurture an interest in instrument playing. My son has recently really come into his own, particularly with the guitar and has continued to play the piano, due to Phil's excellent way of finding and teaching tunes which appeal to the player. Whilst teaching and guiding my son through the discipline of grades (classical and 'Rock School') for both instruments, he has made sure the process continues to be fun. My son's piano and guitar lessons frequently end with a riotous rock and roll session on the keys or strings! I shall be forever grateful to Phil for enthusing us all in our instruments and teaching us the required skills necessary. Fantastic value for money indeed!
