Founded in 1996, Peter Sommer Travels is a multi-award winning tour operator. It offers expert-led gulet cruises, archaeological tours, family tours, walking holidays and food tours in Croatia, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Turkey and the UK to clients throughout the UK and worldwide. In 2016 and 2018 they received the UK’s Tour Operator of the Year Gold Award and in 2017, 2019 and 2020 the Silver Award from AITO, the Association of Independent Tour Operators, the UK’s most prestigious and leading organisation for specialist tour operators. The company is based in Monmouth.

The company is managed by Peter Sommer an archaeologist and film-maker, who in 1994 walked 2, 000 miles across Turkey, retracing the route of Alexander the Great, and fell deeply in love with the country. Ever since, he has been organising exceptional escorted tours and holidays.

The company offers a unique range of special interest holidays for small groups led by international experts, as well as private gulet charters. The gulet trips they run cruise between Bodrum, Ephesus, Gocek, Fethiye, and Antalya in Turkey, in the Dodecanese and Cyclades Islands in Greece and along the Amalfi coast in Italy.
