Wow, can't recommend Susie enough! Our daughter was underachieving at the end of year 10, just scraping a 4 in both English Language and Literature. She did not enjoy the subject, finding it difficult and boring. Susie really turned things around for her, she really started to enjoy English and today scored an 8 in Language and 7 in Literature for GCSE! We are so pleased. Thank you so much!

My daughter was really struggling with her English in year 9 and was low in confidence. We both decided it could be beneficial for some extra tutoring and we were very fortunate that we chose Susie. Straight away Susie put my daughter at ease and she has made incredible progress and really blossomed so much so she is far more interactive in class due to the knowledge she has gained from Susie and her grades have improved so much. Susie has helped my daughter with her GCSE English studies and within a few sessions my daughters confidence in the subject had increased. Susie has developed great relationship with my daughter which has encouraged her to feel comfortable and capable of achieving her full potential. Cant praise Susie enough for her dedication, professionalism and teaching style. With just 8 lessons, my son improved his result. WOW…. We cannot recommend Susie highly enough…. She has taken my disengaged and disillusioned Y11 son who had a real dislike for English and turned him into an enthusiastic and motivated learner. We often refer to the “magic wand” that she must have when we read essays or receive grades back from school. During lockdown it was amazing to listen to online sessions and hear the special relationship that Susie has developed with our son. Susie had tutored my son throughout year 11 and I am blown away with how much he has developed, not only academically but in confidence too. Lewis looked forward to each weekly session and continued through lockdown via video call when unable to do face to face. Susie inspired Lewis, encouraged him to believe in himself and he has truly flourished. The difference in him has been highlighted several times by his School teachers. My daughter sat her English language paper and missed out on a pass twice by one mark, she was so disheartened so we looked into hiring a tutor. Susie was recommended to us. On meeting Susie, we knew she was exactly what Aimee needed to get her through her resit. Patient, and very knowledgable. Susie only had 3 months to work with Aimee before her next resit, and work they did. Not only did she get the extra mark she needed to pass, she got a whole extra grade! So pleased. Thanks so much Susie! If my son needs any extra help when it’s his turn to sit his GCSE’s we know exactly where we will be coming.

Susie has been an absolute God send over the last few months tutoring my 13 year old boy with his reading during lockdown. My son really struggled to read even simple texts when school finished in March and his confidence, vocabulary, comprehension and reading speed were well below where he should have been for his age group. Like many parents my wife and I found it incredibly difficult to get him to do any schoolwork during lockdown and it was a source of several rows. What Susie brought to this was an incredible ability to engage with our son without getting frustrated with him and to get him switched on to reading - which he previously considered "boring and for nerds". He has now read 3 full novels and several (more than 5) non-fiction books during this period. Susie is a professional tutor (rather than someone who just tutors on the side) and she is really skilled at getting young people to learn without them really noticing that its "work". In our case the tutoring has been exclusively online because of geography but the results have been amazing. My wife and I now feel that our sons time in lockdown hasn't been wasted and actually if he'd been in school in this time he probably would have just learned a bit more… Where as actually he has now learned a completely new skill and has the ability and desire to get knowledge for himself. Susie is an amazing tutor. She is patient, organised and very enthusiastic. My son feels very comfortable with Susie and has gained so much confidence in the subject. Susie tutored my son 5 weeks before lockdown, in that short time he became more confident and his grade went from a low 5 to a 6 in his mocks. She was able to concentrate on exam questions and gave him more confidence going into the exam, and he enjoyed going. Fantastic.
