I have been with Osteopathy First for 7 years. Through the strength and condition work from Rob Hill, this helped by break another marathon in under 3 hours. Completed the Bedford Autodrome marathon at the weekend in 2hrs53. I have now ran sub 3hr marathons across 4 separate decades (1990's, 2000's, 2010's and 2020's). Being strong and flexible has made my legs feel 10 years younger. The exercises also address the siatic nerve pains I have experienced in recent years. Thanks Rob and team.
Osteopathy First through James did me proud again. Yesterday I received a sports massage from James. Similar to work he did in April, he got my fine tuned for my track race in the 3000m Steeplechase (35 hurdles including 7 water jumps). For this event, you have got to be very flexible. He got my hamstrings all loosened off, as they were tight beforehand. I won the race (Cambridge Open) that same evening in a seasons best by 15 seconds, finishing in 11:42. Thanks again Osteopathy First.
Osteopathy First Helped Achieve My Marathon Goal! London Marathon 2019 completed in 2hrs57. Great work from Chris at the start of the year, to help clear my hamstring and sciatic nerve issues. Appreciated the fine tuning delivered by James in the couple of weeks leading up to the race. This helped me get to the London Marathon in great shape. Excellent work yet again and highly recommend your services.
Hannah Walder treated me for an agonizing back injury which prevented me from playing golf. Her care and attentiveness to finding the root problem was the key to improvement. After a few sessions of treatment including manipulation, massage and orthotics I was able to get back to golf. The orthotics are going really well and I have not found them obtrusive at all. I feel they are making a difference. Hannah gave me specific exercises and recommended I start Pilates. I can now see why! The gentle stretching improves back strength and it will be something I will continue with. If you want the whole package I recommend you see Hannah she makes a real difference! Julie.
I was treated by Rob Gaylor. After injuring my back 5 years ago, and having seen as many physios with little to no success in that time. I decided to see an osteopath for a shot at troubleshooting my persistent back problem. Rob G. Was great at listening and looking for clues to target his treatment, and then when he had a complete picture, went to work. After my first visit, I had noticeable improvements, and the 'signs' that I had come to live with (foot towing out when squatting, or when laying flat, or glute activating too much on high steps etc) in the last 5 years were gone, meaning a fix! On my second visit, I felt much more free in my hips and lower back and feel great! Thank you, Rob G. Very much appreciated! Darren.
I was treated by Hannah Walder for long standing injuries to my wrist and shoulder. Her knowledge and treatment were excellent as were the exercises she gave me to do between sessions to assist my recovery. Additionally she has a delightful personality! Over the years I have seen a number of physios and osteos but Hannah is the best I have ever been treated by. She has also treated other members of my family with equally successful results. I would highly recommend her.
I saw Hannah for a year for my EDS and she is absolutely magic. She is so lovely, and really took the time to understand my condition and needs. Thanks to her, I'm am so much better, and the insoles she got made for me have changed my life. The team at O1st are friendly and really helpful, especially when I had to rearrange appointments. I would 100% recommend them (and have) to everyone.
I am a sponsored athlete, and receive treatment from Rob Hill (Osteopathy First - Stevenage) on a regular basis. Through all the strength and conditioning work, Rob has helped enhance my performances. Despite being in my 40's, I have been able to stay in great shape, and in the process won the Stevenage Marathon, Ware 10 Mile race, Midweek League (for Herts, Essex and London) and won Bronze in the European Marathon Championships, in the team competition. I would highly recommend the services of Rob Hill to anyone. His knowledge in this profession is very impressive. The treatment and the exercises provided are highly effective, and is professional in everything he does.
Looked up a Physio on the London Marathon website having picked up an injury. Met Brad and from the moment I was in his care I trusted him immediately. Half of seeing a physio is about trusting what you are told and Brad is very credible in his diagnosis and advice. Gave me sound treatment, coaching and rehab excercises. On a personal note, Brad is a cracking guy. Engaging, professional and fun at the same time. I would recommend Osteopathy first and Brad 100%. Thanks very much. Paul.
I am an osteopathy student and Rob and Hannah have given me the opportunity to observe treatments as part of my development for the last four years of which has helped me enormously and I have learned a lot and am very grateful! They are very professional and the clinic is of a very high standard I recommend them highly!
I went to Mr Rob Hill with runners knee. This condition was impacting with my training significantly. Rob showed empathy towards a runner which most healthcare professional would not ( as most are obese and unfit). Rob diagnosed my condition and implemented a treatment programme involving custom made orthotics from Canada, rehabilitation exercises and massage. I am now on schedule to get a Boston marathon qualifying time. If you are a runner with an injury who wants to carry on training see Rob Hill.
Was recommended after a period of long tern shoulder pain which was starting to really get me down. Hannah was able from the first session to quickly understand the problem and worked in very friendly and efficient manner to improve from day one. I was absolutely amazed by results that I could feel straight away, came out a new man. I would recommend her services without question, truly a professional in her field. David O.
I can´t recommend this place enough. They´re very professional, friendly, and incredibly good at what they do. I have been seeing the same therapist for a few years now, for different reasons, and there hasn´t been a single time in which I didn´t improve considerably after treatment.
I first met Rob after doing the rounds of a number of physio's and other healthcare practitioners when I could not get rid of pain in my lower back. By this time I had spent the best part of £800 on blocks of treatment with other organisations and one year on I was no further forward. Rob was the first person to listen to my previous experiences and from the first session he stated if you are not better in 3 sessions you probably have disc bulges. This chain of thought turned out to be correct and after the third session he wrote a letter to my GP requesting a scan and yes it transpired I had two bulging discs. Amazing that for one year, no other practitioner suggested this as a possible cause. I would wholeheartedly recommend Rob.
As an active endurance runner and duathlete I sometimes suffer from muscle imbalances which hinder training and performance. These are normally related to the 2 proplapsed discs in my lower back. The team at Osteopathy First (primarily Rob but I have been treated by Hannah, Brad and Chris) are excellent at defining the problem area and providing remedial treatment. The team are helping me overcome nerve problems associated with the damaged discs and I am now back running marathons and have just qualified for next years London marathon as a "good for age".
I have been treated by Hannah and her excellent team since 2011. Hannah is superb at quickly identifying the problem and treating it. There are no excessive treatments and check ups just to make money but quality care every time. I have long suffered with knee and shoulder pain and now know I have hyper mobility in my joints. I have returned the clinic time after time, after doing something stupid and quickly return to sport. The clinic also offer fab treatments and these are always welcome if I've been feeling down for not exercising in a while. Nice nails get you everywhere in life. Can't recommend Hannah and her team enough!
I am an elite marathon runner and started receiving treatment from Rob Hill last August. This was in the form of strength and gym work, which had proved very effective, with regular pb's being achieved in training and racing. The most significant achievement being the Great North Run Half Marathon, finishing 56th out of 56,000 with a pb of 73:08. In last weekends London Marathon, I turned in my best performance for 5 years, finishing 149th in a time of 2hrs38. Just a minute outside my pb. One of the biggest trends noted is the second half performances in distance runs, where negative splits have become the norm. The Rob Hill effect has made a difference. Looking good for this summers European Marathon Championships in Turkey.
