About North Yorkshire Moors Birds of Prey

Our business is a partnership consisting of myself Mark Allen and Mike Kinder. We will provide a safe, exciting and memorable live wildlife learning experience with the main emphasis on educating individuals and groups of all ages about the habitat of Birds of Prey which will consist of varied Owls, Hawks and Falcons.

The main focus will be education, visiting both Primary and Secondary schools, with the inclusion of alternative education provisions, special education needs schools, and further education centres and care homes, with a large selection of beautifully maintained Birds of Prey teaching the environmental and conservation aspects of these amazing birds and their surroundings. We aim to provide an entertaining and educational visit tailored to the pupil’s and client’s needs to enhance their learning experience while minimizing any barriers to learning and explain all about the birds and how they live in the wild and captivity.

Other avenues of interest will be weddings i. E. Ring delivery, static and flying displays, children’s parties with different themes i. E. Harry Potter and Medieval also game fairs / craft fairs etc. With both static and flying displays and photographs with the birds.

Once we are established we will provide training classes for individuals who are finding it hard to find a place in work or further education within the young adult age bracket. The classes will be dedicated to showing the best practices in how to care for, nurture, handle and the general management of the birds for the purpose of Falconry and the possible opportunity of employment and be able to put what they have learnt into practice either in the field or classroom.

Both myself and Mike have been practising falconers for a number of years, me (15years +) Mike (50years +) both Lantra trained in animal care and welfare. My area of expertise will be mainly computer based looking after all the different business aspects, also with vast experience in facilitating events and teaching new skills. I aim to bring a new perspective and ideas to the business to appeal to a wider range of customer. Mike is a fantastic speaker and has been entertaining in schools and for the public for many years and has even performed in front of Royalty, consequently his role will be based around the presenting and communication with his own unique engaging style. Mike is also an excellent salesperson and his sales skills will be essential in promoting the business and liaise with existing and new customers.
