Waited most of summer for Phil, Tom and Brian but it was well worth the wait. Top class job from start to finish. Listened to our requests and obliged every time. Lads were great company, just keep Brian's coffee cup topped up and he's happy! .

We asked Phil if he could remove the tree roots that were lifting the patio and threatening the foundations of the summerhouse, both at the bottom of the garden. Afterwards, to relay the patio slabs and fix other miscellaneous, smaller issues. The roots proved to be a difficult task but Phil, Brian and Tom have done a great job all round in a very friendly and professional manner. We have no hesitation in recommending them wholeheartedly. Thanks guys!

Phil, Tom, Brian have done work for us in a couple of homes we have had. Each time they have worked for us it has been done efficiently, on time, and with no disruption to our home. They have laid lawns, installed drainage, dug out a pond area, put up fences, laid paving, dug out borders ready for planting (by us) all without complaint about how much we would be paying them :-). Phil never moans about being paid lots of money, he actually seems to enjoy it. So much so, we are in the process of asking him to do some more fencing work - subject to us getting another bank loan - Joking - he is reasonably priced. They do seem happy with Sausage sandwiches also. Lovely people and pleasant all round.

Phil and Tom produced an outstanding transformation to our garden on a tricky sloping site with drainage problems. They implemented our drawings and plans to perfection and it turned out better than we could have imagined. We now have a garden to be proud of with a bespoke pergola, a usable space for entertaining, relaxing and a beautiful planting scheme. The gardens of our new house were a mess - poor quality turfing and not levelled. Cutting the lawns was like riding a BMX course. According to the developer the lawns were laid to "reflect the natural contours of the land" - a cop out methinks! After unsuccessfully trying to get quotes from a couple of other "respected" landscape gardeners in the Marton area (they simply didn't seem to want the work) we were recommended to NYLGS by a friend - and we're so glad the others let us down. From first appointment to completion, Phil Coulson and his team were constructive, helpful and totally professional. We had a rough idea of what we wanted but Phil refined our ideas, came up with an excellent design and consulted with us every step of the way on what turned out to be a complex three week landscaping job. The final result is a garden to be proud of - admired by our neighbours and the best on the development according to one of the site workers! Many thanks to Phil, Tom and Carl for an excellent job and their professional attitude.

Phil was very good at visualising and improving on the work that the wife and I wanted doing. His team, his Dad Brian, Thomas and Carl were an absolute pleasure to deal with; Phil came and went throughout the landscaping, but replied straightaway when contacting him by text or phoning. We would recommend them as the work done was first class, the driveway and paving at the front of the house and re-landscaping of the garden is a very welcoming sight to our home. The work done to the back of the house is now a place we love to spend time in after Thomas and Carl have worked their magic, the work did take a while to be fully complete due to some weather issues, and as Thomas said you can’t rush perfection! The only thing we would recommend is to get a final cost in writing as to avoid any miss understanding.

Recently moved to North Yorkshire and needed to my have patio re-laid after conservatory added. I went for nlgs on personal recommendation and was very pleased with the work which was a great improvement on the original. The team were extremely hardworking and pleasant and happy to adapt the plan at short notice, nothing being too much trouble.

Recently we had the lads from NYL& Garden Services revamp our back garden. They removed the turf that had been killed off by our dog, then prepared the base prior to laying an imitation grass lawn. The borders were prepared and gravelled over to create a virtual maintenance free garden. We had a minor issue a couple of weeks after completion, Phil and the lads responded the same day that I rang them and they commenced rectifying it the following day. From start to finish the lads were courteous tidy helpful and totally professional, nothing was too much trouble, we were really impressed and would gladly recommend them. Thanks to Phil Thomas and Carl for a great garden.

Phil and his team dug a border round our rear garden and added brick edging so we could mow right up to the soil. Phil had this idea when he quoted! He always arrived on time and gave accurate date and time for commencement of the work. He and his team worked very hard, completed the job ahead of schedule for a very reasonable fee. He also passed on his knowledge and advice re maintaining the garden for which we were very happy to be helped. We are very happy to recommend him and his team to other potential customers. The big shame is that we could not give more than 5 stars they deserve a lot more.

Our experience from the start to the finish of work undertaken on our patio was outstanding and the attention to detail was exceptional. We are over the moon with the results and can't wait until the good weather arrives to be able to enjoy it. We would highly recommend to friends and family.

Phil and his team constructed a raised border in our garden with sleeper surround. They fitted a water feature and planted the bed. They also constructed a sleeper gravel bed at the front of the house. The work is of excellent quality and was completed quickly. I am happy to recommend the service offered.

As a returning customer of Phil's family business, I didn't hesitate to contact them when I needed some more landscaping work doing, nor did I consult any other landscaping firm: there was no need as I continue to be thrilled with their past landscaping work in my garden, and the drive and patio they laid. Phil and Thomas helped me design a large raised bed which was needed to combat less than favourable growing conditions; this has resulted in an area which suits both the existing garden and my requirements for an easily-maintained-yet-interesting garden. We have just had our garden landscaped by Phil, Brian and Thomas they were conscientious and professional, the standard of work was excellent Phil had some good ideas and involved us throughout the job, they are all lovely lads and very easy to get on with, we would not hesitate to recommend them to family and friends.

Following the 2014 installation of our Summerhouse I contacted several companies to obtain estimates for our rear garden project. They were not the cheapest quote, but I was so impressed by Phil's knowledge and enthusiasm when discussing our plans + the fact that the business is "family run" I had no hesitation in choosing NYLGS. During April 2015 we had the work carried out and what a transformation. Our previously "sloping" garden is now on 2 straight levels. Our requirements included gravelling, paving and fencing + the installation of wooden sleepers, synthetic grass and LED lighting. Our regular reviews as work progressed + the advice and guidance that we received throughout was invaluable. Phillip, Brian, Michael and Thomas transformed our mud pit into a fantastic cobbled patio area with curved wooden sleeper retaining walls which connected to a matching new path with planter areas at the bottom of the garden. Phillip managed to locate natural stone cobbles which complimented our house and had great ideas for design and layout. We would definitely recommend Phil and his team for any landscaping and gardening job and would like compliment them on the professional and friendly way they carried out our job.
