About Natural Pathways Bushcraft

Natural Pathways Bushcraft established since 2002 and based in Kent provides bushcraft and nature awareness courses run by professional instructors.

Our popular Bushcraft Adventure Weekend Family camp in June and July and our Three day Wilderness Family Camp during the School holidays are a perfect break for the whole family. Time to relax and unwind in nature and learn some useful bushcraft skills. You will create your own bushcraft camp, sleep in your own shelter or bring a tent for your comfort and you can cook all your meals over your campfire. Bushcraft skills, nature-based games and an exciting night activity are delivered by experienced bushcraft instructors. Suitable for children up to age 15 and and we don't charge for children age 4 and under.
Families travel from all over the UK to our camps. So, don't delay book your bushcraft adventure holiday today!

We run Woodland Adventure Birthday Parties through-out the year and have a variety of themes to choose from to suit various ages and interests.

Our Foraging and Wild Cookery course is led by Carol Hunt, a foraging expert who has been working with wild plants all her life.
The day covers safety and best practice in foraging, what not to do, and how to keep yourself safe. Carol will lead a walk around the woodland pointing out the edible and poisonous plants, because its just as important to know what not to pick.
Back at camp you will examine and learn about plants that have been foraged from other areas that you wouldn't find in the woodland.
And after a light lunch you will prepare the wild plants and create a delicious three course meal. You will not be cooking a completely wild meal because quite honestly you would probably never want to cook another wild meal again. Instead, you will be including the wild plants and greens with ingredients you would have in your cupboards. We do this because we want to encourage you to think about how you can include wild food in your everyday meals.
We will provide handouts and recipe sheets to take home.

We offer a Discovery Bushcraft and Nature Awareness Camp for adults or a Women Only camp.
You will be creating your own Bushcraft Camp, building shelters, making and lighting fires, learning camp-cooking skills, knife, tool skills, knots and erecting bashers, nature awareness, animal tracking, natural cordage making.

I've done 2 courses here 1 in wild food with Carol what can I say apart from top marks it was an exceptional course and great food too. The 2nd I took my brother 8 year old who's into bushcraft (fire really) on a kids adventure day and he loved it so much when he got back home he took Grangran in the garden made a fire with a ferro rod and cooked some sausages and then quizzed her on the correct way of doing things needless to say Grangran failed on all questions, he's now got the bug and I would highly recommend both courses I for one will be booking some more.
Response : Thanks Harry, Its lovely to hear you and your nephew got a lot from the courses. Looking forward to seeing you again. Hannah.

We originally booked the bushcraft day last year but I fell quite ill for many months and Hannah was very kind to let us postpone our day until I was better (even though it had been booked through groupon) It was so worth the wait. We had an amazing day, in a fantastic setting, learned lots in a short period of time and most of all had fun - children and adults! I would definitely recommend Natural Pathway and we hope to return in the near future for an other fun packed day!
Response : Thank you Marie, so glad you all had a good day with us and look forward to seeing you again. Hannah.

Had a fantastic day with my son building a shelter and the learning how to light a fire and cook sausages and marshmellows on it. My son wanted to stay and try out the shelter overnight….
Response : Thanks Kevin, so glad you enjoyed the family bushcraft day, your shelter was awesome, maybe you both could come back on our family camp and have the experience of sleeping in your shelter. There's nothing like it Hannah.

My two boys (6 and 8) and I had a fantastic time on the Tracking Wild Animals course with Hannah at Natural Pathways. A really good mixture of fun and learning, mixed with a campfire in the middle of beautiful woodland. Hannah's extremely knowledgeable and has a passion for all aspects of tracking and bushcraft, and transferred that passion to all of us. Highly recommended!
Response : Thanks Mark for your kind words. I'm delighted you and your lovely boys enjoyed the day in the woods. Hope to see you again Hannah.

This was a great and different day for our daughter's 11th birthday - went for the 2. 5 hours of campfire and shelter building. The weather the night before was very wet which meant the forest / wood was wet, but this didn't stop the enjoyment of the kids. Hannah did a great job of showing the kids how to collect wood, build a fire and use a fire steel to light the fire. Was a bit harder than expected due to everything being wet but in the end got a great campfire for the kids to get their sausages cooked on and also cook the marshmallows. The kids loved being in a forest where they could have fun, build shelters and generally mess around. A different party and would definitely recommend. Thanks Hannah!

Everyone of us enjoyed the survival day! It was an amazing day, with a lot of fun and obviously it was very educational for all the children. As well as for us (the teachers). It was a big experience for all and we will definitely consider of doing it again when we go for another school trip to England. We would like to thank the whole team, for an incredible day!

An absolutely brilliant event, the woodland was absolutely beautiful, and the instructor Hannah was very knowledgeable and made the activities fun. It was a lovely mixed group of adults and children, and the highlights for the kids was toasting marshmallows and sausages over a fire that they had prepared and made themselves using bushcraft skills. Will definitely look into more courses here again, and also seems like a great way to spend a birthday.

I brought a small group of ladies from London to try a half day of bushcraft learning with Hannah. Just being out in the woods in the glorious Elham Valley was lovely enough, but we in a very short space of time we learnt so much, from making a fire to making a shelter. I definitely want to do this again!

We use Natural Pathways for our bushcraft activities at The Soul Camp. We focus on groups and many of them are companies looking for a fun and worthwhile activity to do while they camp with us. We've used Natural Pathways many times over the last couple of years and our customers are always delighted with the activities. Hannah and her colleagues are always cheerful, professional and reliable, we thoroughly recommend Natural Pathways!

My class of year 5/6 pupils had the most amazing day. The day was brilliantly planned to take into account the children's learning but packed with fun, interactive activities. The children were given a sense of independence and challenge. The shelter building was a real highlight and the children loved running around collecting the twigs and branches. Marshmallows around the fire was an obvious hit and they all loved collecting firewood and learning how to start a fire using bushcraft techniques. One of the best trips I have ever taken the children on! Thank you Hannah.

We held my sons birthday party with Natural Pathways. Booking was easy and clear information was given beforehand. The party was a huge success with all the children and they thrived in the outdoor environment. It was a joy for us as parents to see the children having so much fun at a party that was also educational, connected them with their natural environment and enabled them to be in the fresh air! I highly recommend Natural Pathways for young and old. They have a great variety of options to get you back to nature and all the positives that brings.

I've been on the family camp, discovery course and tracking courses with Natural pathways. The courses have all been excellent experiences with knowledgeable and helpful staff. What impressed me most was the willingness of the instructors to really listen to what the participants were saying and responding on an individual basis. I have come away with not only the technical knowledge of bushcraft, but a greater awareness of nature and the world around us. Thanks Natural pathways!
