MCS Ltd carries out museum quality conservation and restoration work for individuals, museums, historic houses, insurance companies, archives, art galleries and collectors.

Based in Cambridge, we provide services throughout the UK and abroad.

The studio was founded by a charity in 1974 to provide services to museums. We became a commercial business in 1995 and can now work on your artworks too. We have been listed on the Conservation Register (now maintained by the Institute of Conservation, the professional body for UK conservators) for several decades.

All our staff are professionally qualified and continuously develop their skills and knowledge. Professional memberships include ICON, IIC, the International Council of Museums (ICOM) Conservation Committee and the American Institute For Conservation.

We carry out consultancy work which has included helping several clients gain HLF grants. We also recover and treat fire and flood damaged artworks.

We have excellent security including an alarm system and 24-hour a day, 365 days a year on-site guards. Our studio is state of the art and includes in-house mounting and framing to museum standards.
